He had half a dozen big drops in big games. Had 1-2 walk-in touchdowns in Arkansas that he dropped. Probably why his snaps dropped off mid year. Tough but he got the dropsies. If you're a guy on a playoff team, with one of the biggest games in program history coming up, and you're in the rotation... why do you not see the year through? So weird.
Looking more, didn't realize his snaps had dropped so much. Played 150 snaps less this year than last, and most of those were earlier in the year.
"Like I mentioned in the WR on Friday, Tn is going to focus on interior lineman on both sides of the ball. Patrick Kutas sounds like he is going to head elsewhere. Sounds like Ole Miss may have been done on that one when he went in.Anyone have what AP just posted?
Thompson seems like he'll be hard to get out of Michigan but we'll see if he indeed visits"Like I mentioned in the WR on Friday, Tn is going to focus on interior lineman on both sides of the ball. Northwestern OL Josh Thompson is one that very well could visit Tennessee.
Some of you have asked about Mose Phillips III and right now I’m not sure Tennessee is targeting a safety. The Vols have lots of bodies in the backend of their defense and so it would be surprising to see them go that route.
Most positions like wideout and others will be dictated on who leaves and who doesn’t.
My point is to not expect a bunch of movement early."
That is right where we need to be focused. The fact that we are going to take few from the portal and are being selective is a very good sign as to where our roster is right nowJosh Thompson is our focus right now, that's not to say things will change once the playoffs end. You might see more jump in once the season is over.
Thornton is our best wide receiver on this year's roster by a significant margin.I think that #2 is a combination of both. Thornton was the #5 option at Oregon for a reason and behind 3 others that were in his same class. He was a physical freak but not a good receiver. We had to develop him, him learn the system and try to get the most out of him in a short amount of time. Brazzell was recruited as a DB at Tulane and only played receiver one year there. Once again we had to develop, him learn the system and learn how to perform at the SEC level. Fortunately we get him for 3 years.
Several with disagree with me but Thornton was a horrible portal pick up. We have invested so many reps and development in a guy where Nimrod/Webb/Leacock/Matthews developments have suffered for minimal production.
