Positive thoughts and Prayers needed

Melissa is at the hand specialist right now to determine course of action... cast or surgery.

We need your prayers and positive thoughts that the hands heals correctly and quickly and that her pain is at a minimum.

Does not look promising but hoping she can make it back this season.... Supers or WCWS...

I had the same injury on my right hand a few years back...same bone, same location. Thoughts and prayers coming her way.

Hey you better be glad you got one to break cut my arm of a long time ago, if you look at it like that you are in pretty good shape, by the way you dont need but 1 any way.:)

Doctor said surgery tomorrow morning after Melissa's last final. Bone wasn't in place correctly.

Doctor feels that with surgery that she might be ready in 3 to 4 weeks... if it heals properly.

Hope so. Sounds promising. Thoughts out to her and the family at this time. Heck of a player.

Positive thoughts only!

It will heal properly and she will be GTG!

Sure be praying for a speedy recovery! I know it's not easy to have to sit out.

Sorry to hear this.... If she is ready in 3 weeks, at least she'd have an opportunity to play in another WCWS! If not, she has still had a great season. Prayers with you guys for a speedy recovery.

She looks so sad in that pic. I pray it heals correctly - a healing wrist injury can be tricky -- shes a toughie though. Prayers to Mel and the Davin family, If the LVs go far in the Tournament, Im sure Mel will be the inspiration.

Last night at the Knoxville Airport, Melissa and the lady Vols were greeted by their Teammate, Averi.... it helped ease the pain, if only for a little bit.

She was calling home when that picture was just taken, fighting back the tears, having to tell her dad that her season may be over..... was not a great moment for her or us... She is a gamer and has played hurt all season with a torn labrum in her left shoulder and rotator cuff issues. She is going to have shoulder surgery at the conclusion of the season. We were hoping for a break to get this season played and that she was able to contribute to the team.... She has been battling doing the best she can.... doing what she could.... this injury just sucks!!

Not many players could have a good season with those issues -- like you said, she must really love the game - I hope she comes back for the NCAAs, but if not, she should have a great senior season next year -- in other words, imagine what a healthy Mel will do.

Just had shoulder surgery 4 weeks ago for the same issues and I'm doing great. First week sucks but it gets better from there. My daughter had that surgery at 14 and is now the starting catcher for a D1 program and has a cannon. It's a long slow rehab but I'm positive Melissa will come back better than ever. Good luck to her!
