Positive thoughts and Prayers needed

Ow ow ow ow ow! :yikes:

I fractured my 5th metacarpal (hand bone leading to the pinky finger), and it healed rapidly and well, but then, I don't do a tenth with it what Melissa does. :hi:

Best wishes and prayers and all the rest.

--oh, and one of my daughters trashed her labrum playing goal in soccer and had it plicated at UT. It's like it never happened. Again, best wishes for a speedy and successful recovery.

edit again to add that I had surgery, and I think having that pin inside the bone was a whole lot better than casting. I fractured my wrist a few years after the hand, and it was put in a cast. My arm is crooked in a very creepy way, and I can forecast weather changes via the outside of my wrist.

The surgery is over and Melissa is now in recovery.

Waiting to get a recap of what the Doctor said from our friend, who waited for Melissa at the Hospital.

The picture of Melissa just before she headed to surgery.

The UT Doctors keeping us informed.

The Before and After .... now we need a speedy recovery!!

Really hate to hear the bad news. Seems like we got snakebit right here at the end of the season.

Will be praying for quick, painless recovery.

Doctor said surgery tomorrow morning after Melissa's last final. Bone wasn't in place correctly.

Doctor feels that with surgery that she might be ready in 3 to 4 weeks... if it heals properly.
Definitely looks like pins will be needed to set the bone!
She will heal quickly:clapping:!

Doctor asked Melissa which parent to call.... she said if you want a lot of questions.... call Dad.... If you don't want a bunch of questions... Call Mom...

He called Mom... Ugh.

He did say that she can't even look at a softball for 3 weeks minimum... let a lone pick up a softball or swing a bat...

We need the Lady Vols to keep winning in order to give her a chance to heal up and make it back by WCWS... Go Vols!!

Yes, she traveling with the team to lexington.

I think the Doctor heard about my zeal to get her back on the field when she has been injured in previous years...

She is basically shut down for a few weeks but may be available to pitch run if needed... depending upon her progress and it being a coaching decision. Whatever that she can do to help the team win.... this week, it will be cheering from the dug out.

Finger with screws.... should help heal quickly!
