Positive: TN showed in the first half they are capable of blowing out a good Bama team in their house. They didn't even have to play perfect to achieve this.

I'm not saying this was a moral victory. It's just fact. It's also fact they didn't come back out to play the 2nd half. Players and coaches gotta figure this out. It appeared to me Bame took over at the line in both sides.

We played like deers caught in the headlights in the 2nd half.
Bama drove the ball on TN on ground and air. Milroe made plays. This is DL.

TN was not able to run and Joe was scrambling. This is OL.

It just felt to me like Bama came out in the 2nd half and took over line of scrimmage on both sides. The game will get graded by people much better at that stuff and we'll see.

We got smacked in the mouth on the first two plays of the 2nd half, and then we acted like we didn’t know what to do after that.

#1 Ignoring the playcalling, Milton and the WRs finally showed up! Milton running was great too. Perhaps they have finally clicked and we will see a complete offense against Kentucky and Mizzu. If so, they're beating them both.
#2 handled the road environment really well to open the game compared to the last few showings. Milton was calm and zero pre snap penalties until that last drive.
I'm going to say despite the epic meltdown if the O has truly fixed those 2 things, they'll beat Kentucky and Mizzu.
The meltdown was also against Bama and Saban at their house. Don't be too surprised. Don't give up on the year yet. They get Georgia at home and we know how they play at home.
2 weeks ago I said 8-4 or 7-5. Last week I said 9-3. I still think they can get to 9-3 with what I saw today. Probably 8-4 but I'm not panicking. This is classic Bama 2nd half/revenge game. Tenn isn't a better program still.
Also... REFS!!!
Don’t run logic in here on some of these posters. How dare you!!
Some of them want to fire all the coaches and bench everybody.
Nico comes in and gets broken in half and we’ll be much worse off. It only takes one play.
I expected the Vols to lose this game for the exact reasons I posted in the thread this morning. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed going into the half. I knew Bama would turn it up a notch, but I did not expect Tennessee to go away from what brought them success in the first half, and I sure didn’t expect the atrocious discrepancy in officiating. Seemed like every call and missed call either sustained a Bama drive or killed a Tennessee drive. It’s maddening to see it and know that, with all the emphasis the SEC puts on being the standard, that they have absolutely FAILED with officiating- whether it be vetting the official, training them, and/or holding them accountable. It doesn’t go unnoticed, but it sure goes unpunished.
I was glad to see Joe step up in the postgame and acknowledge his role, and I pray that he and others lead this week and beyond and finish the season strong. Lots to play for and the division is still open.
Go Big Orange!!!
