PosiVol Prediction

As long as UT fans are patient enough for 09 to be the best year out of the next 3 and possibly a losing season again in '10 then maybe CLK can rebuild the program into something better than before. My concern is that people won't accept that.

I know I want to see championships right away. May not be reasonable in the eyes of some but shouldn't that always be the expectation at UT?

I love how I am the unrealistic one.

Firstly, I never once said I expected Kiffin and co. to sign all their targets. To believe that would be foolish. We seem, however, to be missing out on most of our targets. Big difference.

Secondly, I am well aware of how long Kiffin has had compared to other coaches. To bring that up is, again, just making excuses. My point, which was missed by the so-called "Posi-Vols", is that we are not going to have a stellar class - no matter the excuses.

Lastly, the entire point of my post was based on the ridiculous positivity of the opening "prediction". I find it laughable that so many people assume Kiffin has this bevy of silent commitments waiting to burst forth on NSD. That is highly doubtful. So you and beavbullvol and vol71 should probably discern the real reason for posting before calling me foolish.

I bet this guy boos at home football games. Assuming by your choice of avatar, we don't have the coach you wanted. I do think you make some good points about reality, but you have to understand that everyone is extremely excited for the first time in a decade. I know this is the first year I have followed recruiting, and I am impressed so far. I hate to tell most fans this, but 7 wins next year will be a success given the current situation. My last point would be, that these coaches have already offered a large number of scholarships for next year.

You still have to wait till tomorrow to say that Kiffin and staff have missed on most of their targets. Brent Hubbs seems fairly optimistic and so am I. The fact that the staff is telling R. Nelson and A. Kellum that they might be too full to offer lets me know that we still might have a very good day tomorrow. So let's all just hold our horses until Wednesday before we start calling this staff "underachievers.":eek:k:

My prediction is that UT will bring in some quality athletes and maybe even end up with a higher ranking than what I've feared over the past few days. I still don't think they'll fill their OL need though.

Would love to see some combination of Moses, White, Phillips, or ? give UT two more guys.
I understand your concern with our OL situation, yet I can't help but have faith in our staff's ability to know how to run a football program. I can't personally offer up an answer as to what they're planning to do if we don't...maybe they see Revis and Schofield as all they'll need or maybe they're subtley looking the juco route. All I can offer to you is to have patience and trust our new staff.

you guys don't get it, if raynochonspeed doesn't sh*t all over our expectations now, then he can't come back on February 5th and say, "I told you so."

he's just doing his job and covering all his bases.

if he didn't soil every single new thread created, then how would we know how much smarter he is than the rest of us come February 5th?

he has to promote himself now, so that we can all bow down to him later.

I mean isn't that why you all joined this site---to make heroes out of some people and villains out of others?

I know personally that I certainly didn't come here to have discussions about UT athletics. I just came here to point fingers and I say 'I told you so' everytime things didn't work.

OK, you are unrealistic. You really are.

What tells you "mums the word"? Is it so hard to fathom that this coaching staff may have underperformed? All signs indicate that they missed on a lot of guys they wanted/needed.

I will say they underperformed once they have the chance for us to be able to truly judge them....
Like come Feb 4 2010!!!! Then I'll start judging them, but i'm sure it will be in a good way!

Add back in Aubrey Phillips and we Alshon Jeffrey as well. They are still maybes. I would be pleasantly surprised at Bryce Brown, but I don't know how realistic that is. So tops would be 26 signee IMO, I expect 22-24 with at least 4 WRs.
