He's on the Animal saying "You know we gotta learn how to win these close games."

Next person to defend DD gets a knuckle sandwich. Dude is clueless. I'm sorry, but it's time to face the music.

Watching that, I feel bad for the players first. I feel bad for Dooley and the other coaches, I'm sure they are trying. Never seen anything like it, guy just can't win a game to save his life or in this case, his job.

NB4 "don't feel bad he's gonna make $" I know.

I'll be crucified for this, but I actually feel sorry for him. I know he goes to the bank as he goes out the door. And, I know it's time for him to go. I just think he is a great person and I feel for him.

I'm sure this was covered in 1 of the other threads but why did you run down the clock at the end of the fourth quarter ?

He said this about that. "Well, it's like at a Bruce Hornsby and the range concert when they know the audience wants an encore so they save their best song for last. Unfortunately, D-Day got in the way of our shower time and we slipped on the soap and got staph infection!"

No. It's sad to watch someone fail, especially so publicly and spectacularly.

Hard to envision so many coaching blunders in one quarter of football but I was just shown. I just cannot watch anymore. What the hell is up with Coleman? Johnson should be moved to fullback as well, he is not a lb. Maggitt laid it all on the line along with Big Mac. Just cannot believe what a train wreck we have become.

Saying the same thing he has said since he has been here. Never taking responsibility for anything. Not sure why some expect any different, its been the same thing from him over and over.

I don't know what you guys are so upset about, dooley is making history! His team has given up the most yards in a single season, given up the most yards in a single game, given up the most yards at neyland stadium, blown the most close games and just gave a team their very first SEC conference win!

He lost my support for him as a coach today, but I hate watching him like this. It literally breaks my heart. He was almost crying and it was because he hurts for the team--not because he knows there's a 99% chance he'll be fired. I find his excuse for running the clock out unacceptable, but I can't sit back and take pleasure in the fact he just officially became the most hated man in Knoxville.

I know he gets 5 million dollars, but I also know for a fact that it won't help him sleep any better at night. Failure HURTS. I've been there. Not as a football coach obviously, but I've failed at my dream before and it literally makes you sick.

Argh...Curse my sympathetic heart. This would make my transition away from Doolander SO much easier.

He did not have confidence in our team's ability to make the plays to put us in field goal range and wanted to avoid giving the ball back to UM with time on the clock. I guess other coaches were consulted as well and they probably agreed. They saw how the players looked. We were not executing well and UM had run over our defense for several big plays.

He looks absolutely lost and clueless. He needs to be replaced.

Every answer begins with "I don't know so and so". Tells me all I need to know, the man doesn't know. Imagine if you had an employee he consistently has shortcomings and then can't even explain them.

Put yourself in his situation. Imagine what he's feeling right now. You don't exactly think very clearly when your heart is being ripped out of your chest after a loss, especially one like that in a time like this. Now, if in his press conference on Monday he doesn't offer any better explanations, then you can say he doesn't know. Not that his bad decisions can be defended, but only a few minutes coming off a game like that is not a time to judge someone's ability to explain the game.

Why does Dooley even bother showing up at these pressers? He could have just taped the one after the Florida loss and replayed it the rest of the year.
