We see a team that is playing so badly that the word "underachieving" is far too diplomatic--we stink. We see a program in decline, thanks to bad coaching that started under PS (make no mistake) and has gotten worse under Warlick and this staff, and to top it off we are not recruiting well either. It's getting bad and headed to worse; we can all see it. I started complaining about our absolutely CRAP, PATHETIC offensive coaching at least seven years ago, and it not only has not gotten better, it's gotten worse, which is hard to believe. An on top of that, we don't play defense as we used to. McGraw absolutely schools Warlick and our players EVERY YEAR. School them. Slow ball movement, poor passing, bad shooting and excessive turnovers have absolutely plagued this program for more than a decade. One would think that the head coach would bring in a sharp, young assistant or two to help with our high-school offense and recruiting--but PS didn't do it and Warlick isn't smart enough to do it either. We are a badly coached team, and the program will continue to spiral downward until we get better coaches. PERIOD!

I approve this message... the LV program is in freefall... Holly should bite the bullet and resign... get Mitchell, Freize, or Moffett while the LV name still has some national recognition.

Something I used to see in my work - if you found a really stupid manager, you could bet that their assistant was even dumber. I have wondered about TN assistant coaches because while I don't think Holly really knows how to teach a functional offense, there are a lot of assistants that could. Why TN hasn't hired a smart offensive minded assistant coach is a mystery to me. Is it the same situation I used to see at work?
(I honestly don't think Brenda at MD is the smarted bulb in the world, but she knows enough to hire really good assistants.)

Funny and definitely true more often than not. If they hire a smart person by mistake the smartie is either indirectly pushed out or they get so frustrated they leave on their own.

LOL, the only thing softer than this particular team's play is the whiny, entitled, fanbase.

Buck up, grow a set.

Go Lady Vols!!!

Yeah bud, we are entitled - 8 NC from the greatest coach in WBB. Stop licking Holly's azz and making excuses for her. This is not acceptable at TENNESSEE!!!

How far do you have to go back to the last time we beat a top 5 team and when did Holly take over?

Is this a relevant question? I think so, ND was ranked #3 tonight, clearly we were underdogs on the road...

Yet, you expect to win even though we haven't in how long is it again?

Nobody giving the girls a hard time...Just you HW and you get no breaks. Please resign NOW! for the good of the program!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but plenty of people on this forum dog specific players and sometimes the team in general. DeShields is getting a ton of crap because since she's the best player it's her fault she's not always on 100%. Cooper gets hammered because of turnovers or because she plays like a freshman, which she is. Russell gets hammered because, well, she's not Brittany Griner on the post or something. And there's more. People pile on like there's no tomorrow. I'm not any happier with their record than the next fan, but this place takes every loss like it's an offense to Pat Summitt's name -- and scorches the earth after a loss as if no one else cares as much as any of us do. The well is already good and poisoned.

Yeah you just made my argument for me. How long has it been?! Because it hasn't been on Holly's watch, and it used to happen very regularly. Which proves Holly isn't the answer, and this program is in a freefall. How many more bad losses to mediocre teams with WAY less talent, blowouts, and empty signing periods do we as VOL fans have to endure? These are the best fans in the country and have proven it over and over by traveling and taking over arenas. Pat built that. Holly is losing it! Yes we expect to win, and we deserve better than this. These problems aren't a simple trend, they're years in a row, and if trends continue for that amount of time they're no longer trends, they are the norm. Is this acceptable to you? Lack of player development, terrible fundamentals, bad in-game decisions and adjustments.. because it isn't OK anymore by me. It is time for something new.

How bad is it? We have two veteran guards (Carter and Reynolds), a veteran power forward of some accomplishment (Graves), one of the best pure talents in the country (DeShields, playing her second year), a 6'6" center (Russell) who was a blue-chip prospect, playing her second year, an excellent athlete/prospect swing forward (Nared), one of the top freshman guards in the country (Cooper)--and we go into the ND game, a team with less overall physical talent than we have, and maybe even considerably less, and just hope not to be embarrassed! That's when you know it's bad.

Muffet McGraw schools our staff EVERY time we play. The players change--but the basketball lesson is the same every year. Her teams are smart, play fundamental basketball, run sets that get layups, and shoot well--and the irish play like this almost every year!

The Vols, on the other hand, stand around, make bad passes, have no confidence, can't shoot, get lackadaisical on defense--and IT'S THE SAME EVERY YEAR. Our fundamental skills are TERRIBLE. Different players, same problems, same script--every year.

Every post-game presser, Warlick looks at the stat sheet, and mutters, 'turnovers.' And yet the staff is completely incapable of reducing them--has not been able to reduce them for several years. Has not been able to improve our passing, our shooting. Last year, with Burdick and Harrison, two good players and two good leaders, we were considerably better than this, to be fair. But turnovers were still a problem, the offense was still a problem, as it always it--and even with them when we played ND and other good teams we lost. You don't need to be a Sherlock Holmes to figure out where the problem starts.

Johnny majors knew how to hire assistants... that others schools raced to hire away. Has any school ever ever ever gone after one of Holly's crew of the brain dead? Caldwell doesn't count as she was on pat's watch.

You know Geno has has lost 5 times since 2012!! Holly has 6 losses this season!! We used to compete whether we played against them or not on a national scale no longer the case.....we're falling out of the top 10 programs in the country

My only quibble is the tense. We ARE out of the top 10 programs in the country.

I expect to beat an unranked 6-10 ARK team.

Offensively it was one of our better games but suddenly we can't play defense. Every coach we play out coaches Holly. She goes into a game with one game plan and we usually get off to good starts. We usually get it handed to us in the second or third quarter usually the third.
I think coaches make adjustments to what were trying to stop and so that is why we have lost virtually every third quarter this season. We only know one game plan and never adjust during a game when a team does something else. If Oregon State hadn't shot awful in the game we played them we would have seven losses. No worry that is coming soon on the road at either Kentucky or Mississippi State.

Holly Warlick just doesn't get it, does she?
Will UT let the womens basketball program continue to go down, like it did the the Football program, your guess?

But Turner didnt play against Uconn (at least that is what the announcers said tonight). Do you think she is worth a 10 point swing? She was against the LV's.

The announcer didn't state that Turner's replacement came in and rained threes on UCONN. Freshman Mabry scored 21 points in the first half. Since her replacement played so well, it's hard to say if Turner's presence would have helped. We will get a chance to find out in the Final Four.

Marina Mabrey is Turner's replacement? Somehow, I doubt she played post defense on Stewart and blocked shots as well as Turner does.

She'll probably be hurt again by the time U Con has to play ND again. The devil takes care of his pet gee no.
