Was all in for the basketball team, and well, ya know . . .
Was all in for the baseball team, and well, ya know . . .
Was all in for the football team, and well, ya know . . .
And I’ll be back next week, ‘cause I’m not giving up! Hope springs eternal!

I still say the basketball and baseball programs had great seasons and the football program is in the middle of a great season.

I’m leaving the stadium as I type. My honest takeaway is that the game came down to 1v1 matchups and we couldn’t win enough of them.

I thought it was a stellar defensive performance, for the most part. Held them to 27 points, 3.5 ypc, 130 yards. Forced 2 turnovers. That was good enough to win this game. My one critique was that pass rush was pretty non-existent. But again, good enough to win.

Offensively, again we just couldn’t win 1v1’s against press man. Offensive line got dominated. Couldn’t run the ball effectively. Easily the worst performance of the year on offense. Environment definitely played a factor. Not good enough to win.

Special teams had a poor performance. Letting that ball roll to the 1 instead of fielding it was horrible and that is a recurring theme that must get cleaned up. Running into their return man was also a terrible gaffe. Not good enough to win.

Overall, not going to proclaim a moral victory. It was a poor showing overall. But I did appreciate the team not folding in the 4th. It was trending toward a major blowout and that did not happen. I’ve seen the Vols get the doors blown off them in the 4th quarter many times over the last 15 years, and that didn’t happen. I think the committee may look well on that when considering a 4th seed.

Huepel is a A+ coach, working with a roster that has good players but not elite players

I consider this loss to UGA a moral victory since the game was a lot worse than what the score showed... this will pay off a month from now when we are in the playoff discussion

UGA, just awesome in every category, every position, etc. Absolutely 0 debate in that and I will admit greatness when I see it. I personally hope if we make the playoffs (which is still very plausible), we don't face Georgia.

If you would have told me in September that Tennessee would finished the season 11-1, I would have called insane, laughed in your face and muted you. The development in year 2 under Huepel is surreal. Rome isn't built in a day but Huepel has almost made it appear as so

Georgia has had top 5 classes year after year, our last one was 7 years ago.

For us to lose by only two TD's to a team like that is very respectable.

There's only so much scheming you can do until it comes down to raw talent and this is what happened tonight

This is the same roster that lost 30+ players to the transfer portal not too long ago
This…switch rosters and Kirby loses this by 50 -and forget him being undefeated with our roster. We are way ahead of the game already due to a coach that’s one of the best minds in the game. Best thing is that we just have to close the gap a little in talent, which is coming and things are going to be fine.

I can’t think of another coach that could have taken TN to number 1 (even if only short lived) so quickly with such a limited overall compliment of talent.

Yes and anyone who follows football will also tell you that.

Georgia has 15 5 star athletes

Tennessee only 1

Georgia has 67 4/5 star players
Tennessee has 26 4/5 star players

We knew we were playing a team with superior roster talent and saw tonight what a well coached team with elite talent looks like. Their D is everything I want our D to be in the future. It starts with recruiting.

Ya think that noise might have been a factor? Our offensive line is one of the best in the SEC.

Sure, but I expect one of the best OLs to be more disciplined and handle that. I think we had three drives killed by multiple penalties. I think a couple false starts were on Hooker not setting the offense before the snap. I think it's the first time Hooker has had to throw wet balls.

I don't believe in "moral" victories and with this performance Heisman and playoff hopes are gone. That said, my prediction for a successful season was one more regular season win and a bowl win. Now it looks like an 11-1 season is within reach and hopefully that bowl win will happen too. Not bad given where we were!

Yes, because it's simply fact against the best team in the country we just lost to. Heupel's offensive scheme and WR talent has allowed us to bombard teams and put teams in desperation mode, while compensating for our defensive backfield deficiencies and general lack of depth. Not tonight. If Bama had been an away game, it's probably a loss.

We need better talent overall to be consistently championship competitive. We're now in a good position to recruit that level because of CJH.
You’re assumption is that we should have won. It isn’t.

We've lived by the explosive plays all year long. Several solid runs, throw deep. Georgia simply shut down the deep ball playing man to man with no zone softness. That meant their dline could sell out on the run and that's what they did. Looking at Hookers career,I don't think he ever played against a press coverage like that with athletes that good. All of his sacks, knock downs, and flushes we're all due to coverage. Once they got in his head, he just looked confused and indecisive.

Georgia is a really good team, but that secondary set up the defense for the entire game.

I do look forward to having their depth in the near future.
He was 'shook'... And I didn't see that coming. Georgia is waaaay better than Alabama. I just thought they were better.
Georgia is the standard. Not Alabama.
Those days are gone. And we have a ways to go to match Georgia in recruiting. We will need some top 3 classes and a number one class sprinkled in there. They aren't coming down. We have to rise up to their level.

All teams are on the rise including the Lady Vols.
We have several programs 8 currently in the top 20 nationally.
Nothing to complain about.

Needed to establish the run early on. Running the ball is huge for the offense to work. It’s ok, just big beat by a better team
We forced 1 punt. 1 punt the entire game. No offense counters that

My postgame thought is this…. The D played like a bunch of prima donna fun boys and caused the offensive game plan to be altered.
Something didn’t look right tonight and Banks not playing coupled with the rumors flying around … says the Vols got some divisive BS going on internally.
