Georgia was better on the night, but we are fine. Credit to our lads for fighting hard, but they just pressured Hooker, and all those times where Hooker seemed to hesitate or double-clutch -- that was just good coverage by the Georgia DBs. And their crowd contributed to pre-snap penalties getting us off schedule in down & distance. Combine that with losing the turnover battle -- really tough to win.

But... We are fine. Thanks to other results, we are looking good for the playoff race. The Committee SHOULD rank us higher than Oregon, because our loss to Georgia wasn't nearly as bad as theirs was. LSU also shouldn't jump us, but they could jump us if they end up winning the SECCG. It's actually in our best interest now if Georgia wins out.

Ironically, our path the playoffs actually got a little bit easier today.

1. We’ve been challenged all year with big games, it’s hard to maintain that.

2. Game was on the road, they were waiting for us - weather and crowd did NOT help.

3. Last year, Georgia got it handed to them big time by Alabama in the SECC and came back to beat them for the championship.

4. We are BETTER than we played yesterday and everyone “should” know that. Team probably loses this one even if they had played “well” … being on the road it was going to take an A+ and some breaks to win.

It’s not over … personally I was thinking losing this game might be our best way to the playoffs … that was before Alabama lost to LSU, but … Maybe we needed this beat down to get us thru the rest of this year, big picture, it could make a difference in how we approach what’s still ahead.

Some things to take away that could point to a different result if we played again.
Prior to last night and the previous 5 years UGA beat us on average by 23 points. Last night the difference was 14.
UGA tried running it up in 2nd half but couldn’t, they scored 3 second half points.
A total of 27 points with everything in their favor. That normally cannot beat us.
UT played so poorly on offense granted give the dawgs credit for some of that however but much of it was poor execution, that can improve. We routinely ran right by their cover corners but did not get the ball to them as we usually do.
My bet if we play them again, we clean up our offense problems and get even better on defense and beat them. UGA is a solid team but the stars aligned for them, Dooley croaked, we were #1 walking in to their house and theybemoyionallybwebon fire hence their big fall off in the2nd half. They won’t get that benefit if we meet again.

Those times Hooker hesitated or double clutched was partly cause he was thinking of his receivers safety at times. He said in the post game presser that he was trying not to lead his guys into a big hit.

I’m not worried about the playoff Just win against mizzou and go from there”finish 11-1 would be great”I know one thing we need to finish strong and put the foot on the gas and don’t let off I don’t care if the score is 42 10 in any game keep pouring it on….GBO

I think we're fine too. Hooker cost us 17 points on 3 bad throws. 2 overthrown wide open TDs and the forced pass in the redzone for a pick which also led to 3 before half for UGA. He makes those throws and we win regardless of everything else. I feel really good if we can get a rematch on a neutral field hooker won't repeat his only bad game in 2 years

Overblown. #1 team coming into your stadium and it's basically a playoff game. No way that place wasn't going to be rocking.

Why do people want to pretend it had no impact. Especially at the beginning of the game. And once the crowd saw how much they could impact things...

Of course Sanford was gonna be loud. But he just added fuel to the fire

Words said sometimes do come back to haunt a team. UGA now has a monkey on their back as well - fans chanting 'overrated' generally also comes back to haunt the team. If they were to somehow slip up in one of the upcoming road games or lose in the championship game - you can bet the house that will be what they hear from the other team's fans. And that is now out there if by some luck Tennessee gets a second shot at them. It is extremely difficult to beat a team twice in the same year, no matter who you are.
