Post UGA Hot Take: We're FINE.

And sadly, it would not have taking much offense to beat them.
And that’s why it’s not OVER yet. If anything this game shows we can beat them too … my previous comment was that Alabama handed them a big lose in the SECC last year but they turned it around for the playoffs and won it. Similar scenario IF we can make the final 4.

Tennessee is doing great they will go 11-1 and at worst go to a New Years Six Bowl Game.
Think big picture … we’ve come farther to this point than anyone thought we could. I really want to win the championship … but could we call this a better season IF we miss the playoff and win a big NY6 bowl vs. getting knocked out in the playoffs ? I’m saying 11-2 and losing the last game, perhaps finishing 5-7 in the final poll compared to 12-1 and finishing 3-4 in the final poll ? We’re still in for a great season. Losing stinks … but maybe this is the growing pains to get us next level.

Overblown. #1 team coming into your stadium and it's basically a playoff game. No way that place wasn't going to be rocking.

Not totally, never want to give the other team bulletin board material - and on top of that what he said wasn't relevant or at all comparable. His comments were everywhere nationally and picked up and used by CKS among others. Wasn't an ideal time for a "back in my day" moment and he didn't qualify it by saying - Georgia wasn't nearly as good back when I played against them, nor did they have as much talent.

Some things to take away that could point to a different result if we played again.
Prior to last night and the previous 5 years UGA beat us on average by 23 points. Last night the difference was 14.
UGA tried running it up in 2nd half but couldn’t, they scored 3 second half points.
A total of 27 points with everything in their favor. That normally cannot beat us.
UT played so poorly on offense granted give the dawgs credit for some of that however but much of it was poor execution, that can improve. We routinely ran right by their cover corners but did not get the ball to them as we usually do.
My bet if we play them again, we clean up our offense problems and get even better on defense and beat them. UGA is a solid team but the stars aligned for them, Dooley croaked, we were #1 walking in to their house and theybemoyionallybwebon fire hence their big fall off in the2nd half. They won’t get that benefit if we meet again.
You should have watched the game.

I’m a lot less unhappy that the Volunteers lost to a great Bulldogs team that most likely wins the SEC East.
Also because this anomaly happened vs the a great Bulldogs team in Georgia, and because they can’t feel uneasy about being undefeated since they lost for the first time in the 2022 College Football season.

The Volunteers can still make the 4 teams College Football playoffs because the Volunteers realistically can win their final 3 regular season games.

Also because it’s not unrealistic for other teams to lose including a PAC 12 team losing a second game in the PAC 12 Championship game.
The Buckeyes and Wolverines won’t both remain undefeated since the Wolverines play the Buckeyes.

The Crimson Tide is less likely to make the 4 teams College Football Playoffs because they have 2 losses, and because the LSU Tigers winning the SEC West looks more likely since they’re playing great, and they did defeat Alabama in a thrilling close game.

The LSU Tigers most likely play in the SEC Championship game, and they’ve been playing great after the Volunteers steamrolled them in LSU which greatly was shown because they did defeat Alabama in overtime by scoring a 2 point conversion.

The LSU Tigers realistically could defeat the Volunteers in the SEC Championship game which is why the Volunteers not playing in the SEC Championship game is better for them even though they’ll need help to make the 4 teams Playoffs since they aren’t in the driver’s seat after the loss to the Bulldogs in Georgia.

This.. we are so way ahead of schedule and it’s exciting 😂 Doom and gloom should not be the response, but I think it has to be explained to a select few lol
I don’t think it’s so much doom and gloom most recognize we are ahead of schedule but CFPs don’t grow off trees and we’re close to one so I’m gonna think about every scenario I can to get in and yes I’ll be disappointed if we don’t but still understand it was a great season but we haven’t had a chance to be depressed about a loss potentially costing us a shot in the playoff ever so I’m gonna do it haha

It may be what this team needed. Reality of what we will have to do NOW going forward is better than a lucky win and facing the reality later. That’s probably not a 100% accurate picture of our situation. It’s disappointing for sure simply because we HOPED our previous success meant we were gonna breeze thru this, undefeated, etc. Now we’re trying to figure it all out. It stinks but it’s NOT over.

. Oookay 😂 it’s kind of out of our hands 😂 that’s just my personality, and I guess that’s yours 😂 neither is wrong, but fretting about it makes no sense

HOT TAKE: Vols make the playoffs, win in blowout fashion in the Semi's.

Creating an All-SEC National Championship only to lose to the Dawgs again. (by even more)

I tend to doubt it plays out that way ... but it wouldn't bother me a bit if it did.

... if Tennessee makes the playoffs, it will be as the 4 seed, which means that they would face Georgia, the probable 1 seed in the semifinals.

Sounds good. Just want to know when that 1 loss for Georgia is happening? It could be that Championship game you think they will win in blowout fashion. Kirby has never had an undefeated season even last year so

no doubt we have to play a perfect game to beat your dawgs.saturday we didn't, but you know good and well it's hard to beat the same team twice in a season

Usually, I would agree but I don't see the Dawgs losing a game this year. We just beat the most dangerous team on our schedule.

Maybe a misstep in the SECCG against? LSU, Ole Miss, Bama?

Playoffs, if we play Ohio St, we will destroy them, they are mediocre in the trenches, if fact, Michigan may beat them first.

After that, who else is there? TCU will lose to Texas this week. Oregon got skull drug by us already 49-3.

Like I said, Vols might be the biggest threat.

I just want someone to slap that smug look off of Pee-Wee Bennett's face ......
Dude is a complete DB, hotdoggin on every score, needs to be humbled and fast. Lucky he is surrounded by 5stars, otherwise he’d would have already been shown the door at most power 5 programs

You're half right.

........plus you sound just like a Bama fan after last year's SECCG.

Agreed.

If we go 11-1 and our only loss is at Athens, GA, that's a fantastic year by any measure, regardless of what Bowl we go to thereafter.

Let's enjoy our last 3 games. Then let's sit back and watch our competition (Ohio State, Mich, TCU, Oregon, SEC West) play some really tough games. We've earned these very winnable games. I think there are a lot more TDs and exciting plays left in our regular season.

Lol he didn't give the other "team" material, as they aren't fans in the stands.
So what was going thru 92k+ heads that week: "dang, I wasn't going to be very loud for this #1 vs #3 matchup that would decide the East and playoff berth, but some rando I barely even remember said our stadium was overrated so I'm going to be super loud this time just to show him!"

Believe it or not, there were some positives from this game. We held them to 3 points in the 2nd half and under 400 yds for the game. That’s not too shabby given the talent disparity between their offense and our D.

Secondly, Hooker overthrew 2 walk in TDs and completely missed a wide open Hyatt in the 3rd quarter. Hooker was off yesterday but if he had been on, we might win that game.
