serious question

you guys that have had Covid- did you wear masks during all this time or did you get it because you weren't wearing. No underlying agenda here, just wondering if the masks help.

I wore a mask and followed all the guidelines as much as possible. Don't know where I got it. I picked up take out a couple times and I went to a school function where everyone was following protocol. I've been told my case may have been so mild due to a very low viral load.

Did yours start with gastrointestinal symptoms? I’ve wondered if mine wasn’t foodborne. Started with a very mild upset stomach for 3-4 days. Then I woke up congested with no smell or taste. That was as bad as it ever got for me. I suspect low viral load was indeed why I was so mildly ill.

I was completely asymptomatic except for loss of smell for about 4 days. My nose felt overly dry and almost cold inside, like when you step outside on a cold crisp day, but all the time. No smell at all, completely gone.

I wear my mask and clean my hands constantly. I however, was leaving work and stopped to say good bye to a colleague. I stuck my head in her office for no more than 2 mins and we both had on masks and then bam...she was diagnosed on Wednesday and my symptoms showed up on Saturday. My husband and I had fairly mild cases and we were still both miserable. We pretty much assumed we had sinus infections and never would have gotten tested if my colleague didn’t. The fatigue and loss of smell was the worst.

To everyone who has had Covid I am praying for no long term effects ! To anyone who God forbid may catch it i am praying a speedy recovery!

Now, as far as basketball and scheduling our scheduling could still be on track with a Feb 14th make up date with Texas A&M as both teams would have an open date. TAMU would actually be coming off a week off it seems.

Happening all over several cancellations and some teams even calling it quits as the season continues. I expect no SEC Tourney and the NCAA Tourney will probably be some kind of limited team in a bubble type affair.

I saw that the Big East AD's voted to have the BE tournament. Hopefully the SEC AD's will make that call soon so we will know if they are having it.

My wife had a co-worker that always bragged about taking her mask off as soon as she got inside a store that required masks. She came to work with a "sinus infection". The two people who sat the closest to her quickly developed symptoms and tested positive. Another co-worker soon followed and then my wife. Two others soon afterwards. I work from home and almost never went out but I got it from my wife. All this because someone was "standing up for her rights". I would like to put a boot right square into her rights. Selfish d_ _n person. One of us could have died and may yet from complications down the road.

How did she fair? did anyone say anything to her.. that angers me how people are so careless and know they are being careless.

Her "sinus infection" lasted a couple of weeks. No one said anything to her. There is no 100% proof she was the one since she refused to get tested but people sitting near her got sick on the same day so it's likely they didn't give it to each other. Their exposure almost had to come from the same source. No proof but logic tells you where it came from given her beliefs and actions.

Aside from the fact that they had a Tier 1 positive and someone might get ill, my next to biggest concern is they lose the momentum they had then get dumped into the worst part of their schedule rusty and with their timing off. On-floor leadership will be crucial to getting back on track.

Eight games either canceled or postponed tonight. Not sure we are going to get this season over the finish line.
The health of the kids, coaches and staff are the top priority but gosh I have enjoyed this season to date. Feel like we are right at the edge of something special.

I think the season will finish. Pause or no pause.... i don’t think the NCAA will pass up on making money with sponsors and TV airtime.

Health and safety of the players and staff are of the upmost importance !

Yeah, it would take a massive turn for the worst for the NCAA to cancel March madness two seasons in a row. The tournament will be played in a bubble and conference tourney's will likely be cancelled.

On Edit, I will add that the NCAA set the bar really low by making 13 games the minimum requirement to be tournament eligible. They were anticipating even more pauses and cancellations than have occurred so far.

They should just take the top 2 teams from each conference then seed them accordingly. Play the games all in one location.

Small update. My wife has now been diagnosed with covid pneumonia and possible blood clot in her lung. Had to take her to the emergency room this afternoon. Still waiting to see if they keep her or not. I think they will if they confirm the blood clot. I get so angry thinking about all this and knowing it probably started in a wet market in China.
