Not to be a tinfoil hat but the majority of hotels have moved to on demand housekeeping where they won’t come in your room unless you request it.

I would imagine if I was posting **** on social media about going out in a big way just before attending a large event and my friends knew I had some sort of gun collection, that someone would tip off the cops.

I'm banking that they knew about this by the time perp had checked in.

I certainly wish more people would accept this in other areas of human life. Take it to its logical conclusion in other areas.

Punish the action that results in crime, i.e. damage to person or property. Not the mere possession of an item the state deems distasteful.

I can live with that although we’re going to need to establish a definition for crime as some will argue a crime is whatever we say it is. So possession would still be crime.

Yup. A complete overhaul is necessary. It’s pretty simple, crimes have victims. Personal responsibility should rule the day IMO.
