That might be one of the worst trick plays to run…granted the DB made a great move on it when he could have easily ended up out of position. Ballsy of Army to go for it on a trick play out of the punt formation when they’re in field goal, but it goes from a 7 point game to a 14 point game as Wake intercepts it and returns it all the way for a TD.

One of Wake’s better defenders made a big stop on 3rd down but it’s easily with the crown of the helmet. He’s gone today and next week.

And on the play afterwards, it seems like Wake intercepts the rare Army pass but they commit a defensive penalty to nullify it.

NOTE: It looks like the targeting penalty knocked out Army’s 2nd (3rd?) string QB, and the new QB is having trouble running their offense…this drive might be where Army’s offense finally stalls and Wake puts the ballgame away.

Army almost fumbles it away on a pitch this drive. And then it does fumble. That should finally do it.
