Heisman:
5. Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech
Name recognition:
Calvin Johnson - A lot
Robert Meachem - Not as much
Plus, CJ will be able to beat up on a weak ACC. Much as I hate to say it, Meach is bound to have a down game or two.
CJ's good at making a defense pay for mistakes. The Hokie Pokies are gonna have to keep him wrapped up every single play, and they will get burned the first time they slip up and don't.I can't argue with that. I just wanted to compare the two and then thought it was interesting enough to post.
But you do raise an interesting point, why isn't Meachem getting any name time?
CJ's stats wouldn't be that good if the Va Tech coaches decided to actually put a man or two on Johnson.

Brady Quinn? Check his numbers.
Just the facts. Nutten but the facts. just wait till the end. The ESPN people want him in NYC, and we know how ESPN can slant things.
Stating that ESPN and CBS Sportsline have him in the top 5 is stating fact, but it doesn't mean he's deserving. Later today, I will name at least 10 QBs who are having better seasons.
But yes, I agree, he will end up in NYC on national media hype alone.
