PPV questions

Seems like i have had issues with this is in the past so i'm trying to avoid any frustration. Will ALL TV providers give you the ability to purchase the TN-Austin Peay game?

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like last year only certain providers allowed you to order the PPV game

Providers only will offer the game if they think they can sell it. so no, all providers are likely not going to offer the game. The best approach is to call your provider now and find out if they plan to offer

I know its business, but it always pi$$es me off that the ceo of dish who is an alumni blacks out any games in east tn.

He has no choice, it's called programming rights. The content provider own the rights, not the distributors like Dish or the cable companies. My department manages 135 programmers contracts its very complicated because of all the interlocking agreements and exclusive programming rights.

Hopefully 2013 will see the end of PPV. In 2014, with the SEC Network, they should show the Austin Peay, Ga State & S Alabama type games. I think PPV will be a thing of the past....hopefully anyway!

Now all we have to do is make sure our providers add the SEC network to their packages. that will be an issue for some UT fans as they will miss a lot of games because not all providers will carry..

Capitalism will do that to you.

Weird suggestion: Try surfing through channels you probably never normally look at. Being in Ky I seem to be lucky in getting almost all UT games via DirecTV, ESPN3, and on the gracious online links provided by folks who provide that. BUT, once and I admit it happened only once, I stumbled on a blacked out game on some 400 channel number. Periodically, I see channels with movies and games that normally are greyed out because the service I pay for don't include those channels. I have no idea why this happens but it might be true for you as well. Also it seems at various hours of the day or night those channels are available and then later not available, then later are. I don't understand it and usually see them by sheer chance and not by design.

This... I live in KY too, I usually find every UT football and basketball game not on regular tv on channel 194. Found it the same way you did randomly looking on game day last year. Watched probably 10-13 bball games and 3 football games that were not gonna be televised on it. Not HD so that sucks, but better than missing the game.

I live in north Georgia and have Comcast for cable and I usually get all of the UT games here. Does anybody know if the Austin pea game will be on espn3 for sure though?

i remember picking up a game on direct TV like that before,it was just probably a screw up,but i will look again ,if i don't forget too lol

and once they get the SEC Network up and going, hopefully it will show games like this, instead of them being on PPV

and if anybody finds it broadcast on something, please post it in the game thread :)

I just hope the days of scheduling programs like AP are behind us...

Wait...... do you think we schedule AP because we've been playing poorly?

The days of scheduling cupcakes will never "be behind us". Everyone schedules them. Bama schedules cupcakes even after winning so much lately, it's part of football.
