Practice #4 - Updates

This. If they're worse at this point then whose fault is it?

1) Butch is probably trying to motivate to some degree, so take all of this with a grain of salt.

2) Even if they were worse today, it's gonna happen that you don't get better in all phases every day.

3) We have no idea what they were working on today. Perhaps they are installing more challenging routes/plays.

The contrast of opinions is huge. Some people seem to be turning on Butch over a practice that none of us actually saw.

For those of you who haven't watched Jones speak to the media, I would highly encourage you to do it. He wasn't really grim or angry, he just had this little smile the whole time. I think he feels that, for the first time since he has been here, the team is completely sold on him. I have no doubt that there were problems in practice today, but I think Butch knew two months ago that at least one day in camp he wasn't going to let the players speak to the media. He decided today was a good day, and you could just tell he can't wait to get out there tomorrow in pads. Speaking of which, it seems kind of convenient that he wants to spark the team before the pads go on.

As much as CBJ calculates and does everything for a reason, I just might buy this scenario.

"We had trouble at times even snapping the football today. We couldn't make a field goal. We had too many balls on the ground and you're not going to win with that performance. So again, we will not tolerate that. That's something that you have to make sure you adjust---and our players will come out and they'll be fine tomorrow. But again, every moment is a teaching moment, whether it's positive or a chance to improve."

Butch

Lol, ok this must be coach speak.....I've watched every video and they all look consistently the same! Today's actually looks like an improvement, and they are definitely snapping the ball just fine.....CBJ will come out tomorrow and say how leadership has shown up and is going to make this team strong!

One thing to consider is I don't think the media has access to the entire practice, unless that's changed.

Jones is a leader and a motivator. There is a method to his madness and we have seen that on the recruiting trail and when Spurrier stood across the field from him.

Don't freak out.

On another note....Vereen looks like a man
