Not open to the media, just keeping the progressing practice threads rolling.

I'll start it off and give my personally assessment of the QB situation.

Using last year as a benchmark for this year's QB battle is a poor comparison at best. The variables changed dramatically. All have improved, even if some of the footage looks bad. Worley seems to have the reins. Seems like he'll be very functional.

Peterman has the best arm strength, but can he manage a game? We'll hopefully hear some info from the scrimmage on that.

Dobbs.. Ole Dobbs. Wouldn't it be great if he could get his throws on target? What if he can spin in the best AND have the quick feet. We could run the full read option, up tempo offense. I think Dobbs taking the job benefits the team best. BUT, he isn't playing at a good level and Worley has control.

I'll finish with one more thing about Dobbs. If he can get through the wall he seems to be hitting the last few days and come out on top, I think he gives Worley a run for his money.

Worley looks like a solid game manager that will move the ball.. And with the playmakers added on offense, that's more than enough to get us to a bowl game.

A source close to UT told me that Hurd will be getting a look at TE tonight at the first scrimmage.

Surely to goodness not every single ball boy and equipment staffer and practice squad guy will keep their mouth shut about what goes down inside Neyland tonight.

Surely to goodness not every single ball boy and equipment staffer and practice squad guy will keep their mouth shut about what goes down inside Neyland tonight.

Even if they do there will be headlines originating from speculators, agenda hounds, sunshine pumpers, negative nellies and rumor mongers on VN.

JONES: I liked our approach, I liked our mindset. pic.twitter.com/4cERtzdLO1

JONES: It's going to be a great evaluation for our coaches to see who's game-ready

JONES: Effort can make you right when you're wrong and our younger players are struggling with that.

JONES: We can't control how young we are, but we can control how we execute.

JONES: I saw marked improvement in the quarterback game. I saw them manage the offense.

JONES: I thought all three quarterbacks took a step tonight.

JONES: you play the way you practice and we have some young guys still figuring that out.

JONES: One thing about tonight is developing football endurance. Our line has to be ready to play 8-9 plays without a break.

JONES: Barnett continues to show up for our football team. He's the one that's really standing out.

JONES: Jalen Hurd continues to get better and better

JONES: Every play, every snap was a teaching moment tonight.

JONES: We have competition at every position and that's really helping us.

JONES: Dillion Bates is another one of those guys that keeps better and better.

JONES: Nathan Peterman took some important steps forward. Justin Worley continues to get better.

If Peterman goes from "should transfer immediately" status last year to starting this year...

I mean, that has to be up there with the Crompton comeback, right?

Now Jones apparently has great things to say about everyone. Man. The only thing we're consistent at is being inconsistent, apparently.

Fortenberry-Butch said offense went from the 1 yd line to the 2 yd line and on play 14 there was a turnover.
