*Fourth-year junior Kyler Kerbyson continues to work with the first-team offensive line at right guard ahead of Wiesman, a rising sophomore the staff really likes. At this early stage, it appears Tennessee has its top six linemen: newcomers Dontavius Blair and Coleman Thomas at tackles, Mack Crowder at center, Marcus Jackson at left guard, Kerbyson and Wiesman. Kerbyson has the versatility to play guard or tackle, which makes him a valuable player.
* Weve covered offensive and defensive depth charts, but havent gotten as much of a feel for special teams. But for what its worth, junior Matt Giampapa was snapping to punter Matt Darr, who is generally considered the frontrunner in the punting race. Giamapa also has the most long-snapping experience.
In the secondary, which is in flux due to injury and positional cross-training, we saw freshman Emmanuel Moseley and sophomore Cameron Sutton at cornerback, with junior LaDarrell McNeil and sophomore Devaun Swafford at safety. Justin Coleman has worked primarily at nickel.
