expand on Rickea a different monster
Unstoppable every drill every possession can get to the rim and finish at will. Ran in transition and passed well or just got the bucket. But mostly EVERY REBOUND WAS HERS…. Like it was actually unbelievable to see she just got the ball whether in drills or the game it ended up in her hands. She actually didn’t shoot jump shots a lot but didn’t need to. Would’ve liked to see her pull 3s but her team balanced her drives out well

Dang I definitely might cry! Agree, I want to see Rickea shooting 3s and jump shots too. She is amazing getting to the rim, and if she's bigger and stronger that will help. But she still needs that outside game, esp for the W. Glad transition was going well, I thought we should have run w RJ way more last year. Runs the floor like a gazelle. Now we have the guards that can find her.

How did TK run the floor when she was in?

Hey thanks alot for the reports, hope your team had a great experience.

She was lighting it up in drills from 3 tho just wished she did in the scrimmage but they were definitely working on getting their plays down and what looks to take. And yes! It was great seeing practice was the cherry on top of a great HS basketball weekend!

TK was running great too she’s never been a speed demon obviously but she was getting even late into the practice and that’s saying a lot bc all that practice was was running

The scrimmages were phenomenal very high level competition they played 4 5 min controlled games. Teams were “team Orange”JP Ace Kaiya Rickea Sara and TK vs “team gray” Destinee Jewell Tess Karo Jill Edie

Team Orange won the first 3 games relatively easily and team Gray won the last game by 1 on a Jillian steal and score at the last sec.

Huge note is Rickea is a different monster. TK was nearly automatic but did have limited time on floor didn’t play every game. Jill was a monster today to she can really get up and down the floor.

Rickea Ace and TK carried the scoring load for Orange and Karo Jewell and Jill for Gray

JP and Destinee both played their roles well JP probably scored more and was a rebounding animal. You can tell Des is still getting comfortable with the offense.

Jewell was an absolute beast too energy driving energy… complete package can literally create off a screen as good as anyone. Her step back is unstoppable. She was really good on the drive and dish/kick too could really get defenders on their toes and blow by.

Ace really knocked down the catch and shoot threes some from pretty deep and scored well in transition. And could get off her mid range so easily hit a few of them. Also had a DIRTY step back middy on Tess and Jill from a pass up the court from Rickea.
Ace isn’t going to sit in the corner and wait for a pass. She’ll be up and down the court creating

Darby is a two year starter and ranked among the top 5 in 3 point shooting percentage in the SEC last season. She will get her minutes and most likely a lot of them. Then with the addition of wells who shot 45% from 3 last season and spears at 38% and one of the best scorers in the ACC there won't be many minutes left. Ace may see minutes in the future, but this year it's going to be hard to get minutes from of the aforementioned players. All 3 of them will most likely be back the following year as well. Some might say that Wells doesn't play that position, but Kellie is very well known for playing 2 point guards at the same time and with Destinee's shooting percentage from deep, we may see that often this year. 45% overall and 47% in her conference is an eye popping number in any division 1league.
The only way I see Darby losing minutes is because of her defense against speedy guards. She has improved a lot on defense but she lacks a lot of foot speed.

The only thing that could ever hold Rickea Jackson back is her mouth. If she can contain her Mean Girl side, her teammates will always be glad to have her on their team and will help her be the best she can be.

Don't see how Tess doesn't lose mins to Spear. I mean that's why they got Spear. I def think Tess will play, maybe even start at first, but eventually Spear will be the off guard.

Darby killed us defensively and the girl she was defending would get 4/5 offensive rebounds every game. We have shooters who can guard too now. If her minutes don’t go down then we are in for the same situation as this past season. To win championships you can’t have a weak link.

Agree, what you said was the portal need. Address the need for athletes that can play fast and get up and down the court to produce points and play defense.

I actually want to see her be more vocal and show more passion on the floor.
