This really does put a basketball game in perspective.
I think whether someone prays or even if they, at least, think about praying enough to mention that they will pray for you or have you in their thoughts is a good gesture that should not be undervalued. All of us reading this thread feel a sense of sorrow for the loss Principal Dahmen's family and countless friends, including Maymon are feeling. After reading the Wisconsin State journal and the responses, it is clear to see that this man was beloved by many and for that, his life had tremendous value and will live on by the people he touched.
We pray/think about people for many reasons. One is from empathy. We can imagine the pain Maymon must be going through and the mixed emotions. It's human nature. Why did Jesus weep for Lazarus, especially when he already knew he would raise him from the dead He wept because he felt the sorrow Lazarus' family felt.
