First test of the football year, big game for us (at the time), was against NC State. Their starting QB was Grayson McCall.
He had a concussion playing for Coastal Carolina, and another already this year. On October 3rd against Wake Forest, he was hospitalized after a shot to the head. In consultation and for his health, he's decided it's in his best interest to retire from playing. Prayers for him in his future endeavors.

Its kinda weird.. if you look at it of the 7 Starters QB's we have faced this year all of them had bad games and 4 lost their jobs/seasons. Only UTC's Chase Artopheus ( I think he got a home state discount on the drubbing) Taylen Green (only one that had a good game) and Jalen Milroe who had arguably the worst game of his career. only 2 QB's passed for more than 141 yards against UT so far this season. Green and Milroe.

NC State Grayson....you could see it that game he's was a bit gone and never recovered.
Kent States Kargman played two snaps after his epic 56 yard performance against UT season over.
Oklahomas Jackson Arnold still fighting Hawkins for the job.
Florida Mertz out for the year

Of all the QB's we have faced so far only one thus far has gone on to success UTC's Artopheus. UTC is now 4-3 and tied for second in their conference.

If I am a QB on UT's schedule I'm dreading that game

All good vibes to Grayson, great kid from what I've followed and he got a bad break. Wishing him the best.

No - I'm originally from the Tri-Cities in Tennessee. I've been in SC for the past 11 years. I was born in the mountains but have always been an ocean girl at heart. But I bleed orange through and through!

I agree with you about Gilmore retiring. What a legend. Though I had the opportunity to have lunch with the new CCU athletic director recently, and he really impressed me. I think the university's sports programs will do well under his leadership. He's also a Tennessee guy - grew up in Gray and graduated from UT.
Nice! I was born in Johnson City but we moved to Myrtle (Socastee) when I was 4. My parents still live there off of 707, not too far from the Inlet. Many memories down there from working, eating, and partying in the Inlet.

Thats great to hear about the CCU AD. Its always been such a hidden gem of a school to be honest. Its grown so much. I love CCU. When I was growing up we went to many soccer games there when it was still USC at Coastal Carolina and the college had dirt roads! I am a CCU soccer purist, so I was kind of on the fence when CCU got a football team. The soccer program has always been very good. But I am glad they have football and have put CCU on the map!
