Since its going to be 9/11, I'm sure they have something planned.. I'm going to take a wild guess that they will have the bald eagle fly in while playing Star-Spangled Banner, like in years past.. I really love the fly-over that happened when we played AF, but being a 7:00 kickoff, I don't see that happening.. What do you guys think?

actually i do have perspective. I simply think it is over done. no haiti tribute, no tsunami tribute, its just a way for people to pump their chests and feel patriotic. The problem is that it will be more about our country adn servicemen and women than it will be the people who lost their lives. i think that sucks.

That's because our servicemen and women are also losing there lives. Willingly sacrificing because of what happened that day. Politics aside, those people deserve to be commended.

The last time the 11th was on a Saturday was 2004 and they didn't do a 9/11 tribute last year or the year before, but keep making a  of yourself.

And you will go about your life in your parents basement with no perspective in life...until something in life kicks you in your a** and gives you perspective.

What do you suggest to be "more about the people who lost their lives?"

Oh, and on a side note, if you're going to generalize (its just a way for people to pump their chests and feel patriotic), you might choose some less important topic. For those who did lose loved ones, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's about more than what you've suggested it is.

im not saying that they suck...they are courageous in their own way. they arent losing their lives because of that day...they are losing their lives by the way we chose to respond.

it was an attack on our soil not even a decade ago......i'm pretty positive that none of us will ever forget about the people who lost their lives.....including the "servicemen" and "women". i'm just shocked by your comments.

We do agree on that.

youre right...those who lost loved ones should be remembered for their loss...i simply think our way of doing it is 1) missing the point 2)about making everyone blindly patriotic and 3) rooted in the violence of war

I suppose you would prefer a drum circle in the forest singing kumbaya hand-in-hand with those responsible for the attacks that day.

You couldn't carry my son's rucksack for a quarter mile, hippie.

im sorry you are shocked. i know we fundamentally disagree on some things. i am not by any means trying to take the value away from a human life lost...on the contrary...i feel those who have died should be honored (but bro we don't honor those on the "other side" who have died innocently as well)...i believe our patriotism is misguided.

you are probably just jumping to conclusions......most likely we will take a moment of silence out of respect and honor for the people who lost their lives and the one's who have died to ensure our freedom. i hope you don't have a problem with this......

This. Some people fight, others live in the freedom that they fought for. Tell your son we ALL appreciate his service, even aaronvol. He just may not know it yet.
