PREDICTION: Bama's run is OVER.

That's like saying you've eradicated cockroaches. Not happenin'. You might not see them for a while, but they'll always be there and pop back up.

Stop laughing at me! Here's how it's going down: Kiffin takes the torch away from Saban on Saturday and never looks back. Ole Miss wins the West but loses the SECCG to Georgia. Ole Miss becomes a perennial power. Saban's defense is never able to stop Kiffin's offense. Saban retires within 5 years. I'll be back this weekend and again in December to say I told you so.

Yeah. I was critical of Smart's decision to go away from Justin Fields and Jamie Newman, but as a result he's cornered the market on pro-style QBs. That may not be best for offensive productivity but it is GREAT for stability in today's climate. Imagine you're the best pro-style QB in the country. Where else are you going to go? Literally anywhere else you go, you run the risk of being benched for a guy who can run.

They’ve got to find offense against someone with a pulse first.
I don't know, man. They may not need more than 20 points against anyone left on their schedule, and the defense will put half of those in the offense's lap.

The schedule is a non factor unless someone puts it all together like SC did against them with a little luck. Regardless of what the offense does Kirby will still have to make a critical decision. Whether they admit it or not they don’t want that to happen. Once the season is over we’ll see what they’re made of. I still say at some point Georgia will Georgia.

Yeah---this seems like a time when you think you should bet against Bama and then regret it after the game.
There's an odd segment of UT fans that are Lane Kiffin cucks and actually root for him. It baffles me.
Same here man. Kiffin left UT high and dry.

He did leave us high and dry but Hamilton was more to blame than Kiffin. Hammy was so intent on keeping Kiffin below a $2MM annual salary that he nuked the buyout provisions.

Come on man.. Hamilton did not bolt for USC after one year. Hamilton did not try to get ut recruits to not enroll and instead go to usc-all the while using school equipment.

Hamilton WAS to blame for pulling Kiffy off the scrap heap when (at the time) there were multiple more experienced coaches who would have killed for the UT job.

Kiffy made a business decision to bolt. Hamilton's stupidity may have enabled that, but I am 99.99 percent sure the events of that January were not to his liking.

Agree, Hammy should have gone after Patterson or Kelly; however, when he decided to go after Kiffin, he should have done what EVERY other competent AD does: have a significant buyout provision. Instead, Hammy decided to save a couple hundred K and nuke Kiffin's buyout to fit Kiffin under this arbitrary $2MM number. The rest is history. Trying to save a couple hundred K has likely cost the athletic department 9 figures the past decade. Much like UCLA with Barnes, USCw wouldn't have hired Kiffin if he had a significant 7 figure buyout (like EVERY other coach in the country)

Again, I don't blame Kiffin. He got a 70% raise to go back to a place where him and his family were more comfortable. If you dealt with a penny pinching boss and you had a chance to get a better job AND you got 70% more per year, what would you do?

Kiffin left us high and dry but we were put in that situation largely due to the incompetence of Mike Hamilton.

If anyone is a cuck it's the University of Tennessee. He left UT for a better job. He didn't leave our fans. He left a job.

I never understood why so many people were butt hurt about him leaving. Answer honestly: If you were Kiffin and you'd spent the majority of your adult life in California and USC offered you an opportunity to be their HC, do you accept?

Are you that forgetful? Kiffin walked with virtually no penalty (800k buyout, paid for by USC), but he left us at the most inopportune time - in January. I believe at the time we had the highest paid assistants in the SEC. Kiffin got flack because he had no spine. Tucked tail and ran when it was nearly impossible to find a suitable replacement. His departure left us in a massive hole and we got nothing out of it, minus a hilariously inept HC that had no business in the SEC. That is why people were upset. It's not that hard to figure out.

Hey sassy pants... chill. No reason to come at me like that.

He left us in a bad spot, but some people don’t hate him for it because it was a no-brainer to accept the USC job. Would I have left in the middle of the night like he did? Probably not. Would I leave a job after only a year to pursue a once-in-a-lifetime dream job opportunity? Yep. It’s not like he woke up one morning and said, “I’m tired of these people. I think I’ll screw them over today.”

You funny. Ole Miss starts a 3 game losing streak this week. Alabama, Arkansas & Tennessee.

In the end, what I would do means nothing. I am not the highest paid employee in the state. UT did not give me a second chance at a career after I was unceremoniously sent to the curb in embarrassing fashion by my previous employer. You do not bolt a P5 team after one year-no matter what. Especially one that was as deservedly proud as the UT program was at that time.

I am not butt hurt.

I am just saying that regardless of his reasoning, Kiffy screwed the program. Screwed the program then and thanks to the Idiocracy that has been UT football since then, the ripple effects of that screwing are still traveling up the spine.

I respect Kiffin as a coach. I really do. Don't want him anywhere around the program though.

Lol. You asked, I answered. Not sure why you're set on defending the guy. He screwed the program and that's not something people easily forget.

I used to be one of those people - for whatever reason I didn't think Saban seemed like a Joe Paterno/Bobby Bowden "wheel me off the field in my casket" type.

He's always said he'll keep coaching as long as he had the energy to do so, and as long as he feels like he's helping the team. He shows absolutely no indication of lacking either of those things. It's amazing he's able to do this at almost 70 years old.
70 is the new 60...doubt Saban is going anywhere anytime soon. He loves recruiting, and he's dang good at it. He gets who he wants and then fills gaps via the portal. Most great teams are able to replace last year's playmakers with equally good ones (as UF and UGA are doing now). Saban not only does that well, but he has a network of coordinators and position coaches that he plugs in as needed. To say he is generational would be shortchange. He will be remembered as the greatest coach in the greatest conference. If there was a Mount Rushmore for college football coaches, my picks would be John Heisman, Knute Rockne, Bear Bryant, and Nick Saban. He is in that kind of company.

As Monte Kiffin told Sports Illustrated after Lane was fired, in response to hearing the cliche that Lane's decision to leave Tennessee in 2010 was a 'no-brainer' :

"With heavy sanctions likely at USC, it should have been a brainer." - Monte Kiffin

Monte has always stopped just short of openly calling it a mistake, but you can tell he thinks it was.
