This game is stupid. Let's do some real predicting!
Worley throws for 721 yards and rushes for another 34. Palardy hits a 58 yarder right before halftime. Neal rushes for 345. Pig returns a kick 126 yards for a touchdown. I have a hangover in the morning.
A better question will be how serious does CBJ take the spring game? Some coaches treat it like A practice others make roster discesions based on it. Does anybody know how he did it up in Cincy?
My initial gut level guess was 35-40,000. The KNS, however, just posted the following information regarding top 5 turnouts for previous Orange & White games:
"Breaking the attendance record of 73,801 set in 1986 may be a long shot, but a strong showing by fans could easily push the crowd into the top five. The second-most fans to see a UT spring game was 51,488 in 2009, Lane Kiffins first season. The No. 3 crowd was Derek Dooleys debut in 2010 (35,891). The 2012 game (34,421) and the 1988 game (31,500) round out the top five" ( Butch Jones and staff ready to show off skills at Orange and White Game » GoVolsXtra).
Eclipsing the turnout for Kiffin's only Orange & White game would be a good sign in terms of just how much Butch has energized the Big Orange Nation.
Incidentally, here is a little tidbit of information for those of you too young to remember the '86 spring game: "When the Orange and White Game kicked off at 7 p.m., Tennessee had an NCAA-record crowd of 73,801 on hand. A representative from the Guinness World Records was even there to confirm what was the largest crowd ever to attend a spring game" (John Adams: New coach, recruits big draws for spring game » GoVolsXtra).
