Predictions for the playoff game @ Ohio State

While I remain skeptical of our team’s readiness to march into a truly BIG time road game, especially at night, and win . . . What the heck? Here’s mine:

Vols fall behind early but come roaring back to win 31-21 behind stellar performances by Nico and Sampson. Nico for Heisman hype begins in earnest and continue through the National Championship game.

Vols finally play ALL 4 qtrs. and open up the hidden playbook from the vault

Sampson 177 yards rushing 57 receiving
Nico 285 yards passing 46 rushing

Vols win by 24. Horseshoe almost empty by end of third qtr. Only orange remains in the seats!

I imagine that it will be a close game that UT wins by 3-7 points if UT is able to get the better of Ohio State's OL like Michigan did. 27-24 ish type of game.

Part of this was due to poor play calling in the UM game. If Day/Kelly opens up the offense against UM, that game would've been a blowout.

I believe we match up well with them so expect it to be close. If we are able to truly be two dimensional offensively, then I think we have an advantage - but that is where we have been inconsistent at times.

I picked UT to win in my fantasy bracket. If UT does win, I believe it will be a close score. Probably 38-35.

It depends on two things: Nico and where the heads of the Buckeyes are at after their loss to Michigan. We need Nico to play the best game of his career to date, and we need the Buckeyes to doubt themselves. If we get both of those, we win. If either thing doesn’t go our way, we lose.

It is hard to open up the offense when the running game is not successful. Michigan held Ohio State to 77 rushing yards. All the games are different but I like our chances if Ohio State has a meh day rushing with our front 7 clogging up the middle. Let's be realistic here....There is no reality where the powers that be in college football allow UT to beat Ohio State in Columbus in the first round of the playoffs. It doesn't fit their narrative. Be ready for about 100-120 yards in penalties called against the Vols. I see at least 1 big score called back on us at the most inopportune time to shift momentum. We'll be playing 11 against 18 all night long.

Unfortunately, I see the Vols lose a close one 27-24.

Yep, you know the Rose Bowl would love to have a Big Ten team and a former Pac 10 team.
