I have the Football Time In Tennessee edition with Joe Milton on the cover and it is very good so far.
I need to make myself a list.

I got an Athlon national one and regret spending the money on it (it did little more than recap what happened last year).

Will still probably get a Lindys SEC one.

I'm sitting on a plane a couple weeks ago...some Goober gets on with a Bammer shirt on and I do what I've done since 11pm October 15th, 2022 to EVERY single one of them I see..."How 'BOUT them VOLS??!!" *I HIGHLY suggest it...their reactions of sadness are PRICELESS

Guy sitting next to me in 1A shows me the cover...he's reading THIS^^^

I said It's GREAT...To BE...a TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER!!!

Magazines. We talkin’ magazines (in Allen Inverson voice), lol. I’m so old I remember when (how many times have you younguns heard that) the only Vols info I got was the Nashville Banner and that piece of crap The Tennessean. Eventually the football magazines were produced each summer to whet our appetites for the fall. I used to read a couple of those from cover to cover then Al Gore (sack of doo) changed the world when he invented the internet. I'm sure Tim Berners-Lee was surprised to hear that. Now we have 24/7 coverage via great websites such as our beloved VolNation.

Anyone picked any up yet? I'm out of town this week and prefer the Tennessee versions so I'm waiting until I'm back in town. I may pick up Phil Steele's preview if I can find it.
Phil Steele was on the radio the other day and said that if you go on his website and order the magazine through them that they’ll give you the digital version free and ship the hard copy to you. Not a bad deal.

I always buy Steele's Mag; Very detailed and thorough. (probably since around 2000) "The book the experts cannot do without." And Football Time for the sheer fun of it.

I wonder the total; full price plus shipping? Anyways, Walmart hasn't had Steel in a while, so no discounts anymore.

I forgot to add that he’s only selling the hard copy at Barnes Noble. I’m guessing it’s about $25 or so now

I remember buying my first Football Time in Tennessee magazine in 1999 with Tee Martin on the cover. The magazine predicted Tennessee to repeat, and had about 6 or 7 predicted All-Americans, including Jamal Lewis, Deon Grant, Darwin Walker, and Cosey Coleman. That team was loaded. It was probably the best defense in UT history, but the loss of Cutcliffe really hurt them, in my opinion. They definitely should have went undefeated in the regular season, but I think Florida State would have beaten us that year.

I gave away a lot of the UT memorabilia I had. Selling it became a nightmare. My Dad's birthday coincided with the release of "Football Time in Tennessee" every year so that was always included in his birthday gifts. Anyone have a schedule of when 2023 summer camp begins, who reports when, possible open house game for one of the practices? After last year, and the current upward trend of Tennessee athletics, I am pumped for this football season. Looking forward to this early practice videos. Surprised no one has jumped on that and created a thread.

They haven’t beaten us in a major sport for over a calendar year 😎

$25 for a damn magazine? You've got to be kidding me!

Yep, seems high, but Steele does a great job on every team. You will get far more than $25 worth of info and entertainment. AND if you play some sportsbook stuff, it is invaluable; especially for the first few weeks .

I think I paid 25 last year. So look for 28. Danged inflation JB.
You can order it directly from Steele's website for $19.99 plus S/H. Add a second mag for $5 extra and the digital copy is free. Still nuts to pay that much for a magazine.

Speaking of Phil Steele, here is a synopsis on his perspective of the 2023 Big Orange: "Tennessee is a fairly clear choice for second in the SEC East considering their current momentum. If they can be in the hunt by the time the two-time defending champions come to Neyland Stadium in the second to last game of the year, though, the Vols may very well earn their shot at the top spot and their first trip to the SEC Championship since ’07." See Phil Steele delivers strong take on Tennessee football.
