You can order it directly from Steele's website for $19.99 plus S/H. Add a second mag for $5 extra and the digital copy is free. Still nuts to pay that much for a magazine.

I get Phil Steele every year and have for almost 20 years. While buying through his sight has been an option for a while now I really enjoy going to Barnes and Noble and seeing it/buying it first hand. Kind of a tradition that means the beginning of college football is getting closer.

Shipping 7.99, "Handling" 3.00. Ends up being $30. Really cool that the first thing I saw when I searched Phil Steele and clicked ; NEYLAND! covering the page! Anyways, I can pick it up at Barnes& Noble Eastern Shore for 19.95 plus tax. Have a great day!

I remember buying my first Football Time in Tennessee magazine in 1999 with Tee Martin on the cover. The magazine predicted Tennessee to repeat, and had about 6 or 7 predicted All-Americans, including Jamal Lewis, Deon Grant, Darwin Walker, and Cosey Coleman. That team was loaded. It was probably the best defense in UT history, but the loss of Cutcliffe really hurt them, in my opinion. They definitely should have went undefeated in the regular season, but I think Florida State would have beaten us that year.
That was not the best defenses UT has had. The late 60’s and early 70’s were the greatest. Especially 70 and 71.

There used to be Street & Smith's. When did that one end?

Pre season hype-a-thon. Counting the days to real football news and results. When do frosh report? First day in pads? Daily summer practice videos and commentary? Go Vols!

I am down to only really buying Football Time, but I haven't picked one up yet. I don't get the same utility from them I once did when they were a source of recruiting info. They are uber expensive now too. I will buy it because I mostly always get it but I probably won't read a lot of it.

Lindys is better than Athlons

I was disappointed in Lindy's this year. Per usual, their math doesn't really add up. The Vols were not picked in the top 5 rooms in any category other than receivers, yet they have us finishing 4th in the conference. Which is it? If we're second tier in every category outside of wideouts, how in the world will we finish 4th in the conference?

It's an Alabama rag. Used to be notorious for saying things like "Alabama. nuf said" They did pick Bama to finish 4th in the nation which must have taken alot of soul searching........

Either Athlon has gone to national covers or the middle TN market refuses to buy the TN/Vandy cover. Either way, I'm not going to purchase a pre-season mag that doesn't feature the Vols on the cover in middle Tn. So far, all I've seen is Georgia covers.

I think the transfer portal has changed the game for the preseason mags that write the articles at the conclusion of spring practice. That being said, I have about 40 years worth of Athlons and Lindy's that I've kept over the years. My youngest son (born in 1999) grew up reading those old mags and wishing like heck the Vols could get back to their glory years. He was pretty jaded until Heupel. Let's face it, these mags are a lot more fun to read when the Vols are contending.

Happy football season to all! Pre season mags are a harbinger of football season and help ignite the passion. Go Vols!

That’s a disgrace selling Lindys mags in middle Tennessee with Georgia on the cover, I’m like you I won’t buy one with Georgia or Bama on the cover

I bought a Lindy's SEC today. I see things in it that I take exception to, but I still like it better than most. I didn't care for the UF cover down here on 30A, so I ripped that sucker right off.
