The U.S. was never involved in the slave trade that I could ever find, the closest I could find was there was a contractor for U.S. Navy ship building in the early 1800s (iirc) that used slaves. Just off the top of my head, wouldn't it be possible to use the U.S. Court of Claims if you have a claim against the U.S.? Of course, you're going to have to come up with a real claim.
