On another platform, I recently saw a "progressive" lament about the methodical incrementalism Rs are doing over the last 40 years. The author was encouraging "progressives" to be content with incrementalism on their side because they thought "progressives" disinvest when change doesn't happen quickly or bigly enough.

How anyone can look at America and not see incremental creep toward democratic socialism is a mystery to me. Either the politicians have masterfully bamboozled us into their cult of personality, we aren't paying attention, or both.

Always deflect. Sadly, it's hard to blame a President that had dinner table issues in the win column. Trump had his faults, he was a 4 year politician unlike the one who got elected in 1971. The left will start to eat their own in the coming weeks and months to rid the party of the current environment.

It was to get the votes of the progressives. They needed the votes to have Democrats in name occupy the White House, but it came at giving into the ideology of the progressives. The progressives used the Democrats as the trojan horse because seeing Bernie and even Ralph Nader fail needed to merge into one until after the elections. The old guard democrat is over in 2024.

I’m betting luther has pretty much checked out of the argument at this point . The irony that this administration is tracking down as the most inept / worst in history , and every talking point that the left attributed to Trump , except “he tweets too much and mean things “ can be applied to describe this administration. Add in being forced to hold the backlash bag from shutting down the economy that the left instituted , along with the willingness to force Americans to pay for the new “ liberal world order “ has forced a lot of progressives to switch off even trying to present a “ reasonable and rational “ explanation . In the end ( again irony ) we will be talking about the worst POTUS and his administration in history , belonging to the progressive left , and it won’t be Trump . There seems to be a pattern emerging here.
