President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

To be fair, the younger generation is also the main force behind a push to work from home. That’ll save off that gas expense. From there, don’t get a car with a $400 payment and get a roommate or two split. It’s much cheaper going in together on multiple BRs than it is to go single.

It does suck for a while but if they stick around at a job more than a year, actually try to build a career rather than just having jobs and manage expenses well they will be fine. It’s not easy but it never has been and there’s no instant gratification unless a rich relative dies or they win the lottery that they can’t afford to play.
In 2003, I was making ~$12/hr as a machinist and was paying $300 for a Honda Civic/month and ~$600/month rent (by myself/no need for a roommate) at a nice/decent spot in a mid-tier southern city. $400/month for a car 20 years later at the rate inflation is right now isn't unreasonable and I doubt that $600/month today is going to have you living in as safe and comfortable of a place as I was in 20 years ago.

Some of you Boomers and (sadly) Gen-Xers are real azzholes if you don't see or acknowledge how far our standard of living has fallen due to money printing and inflation.

Saw this today:

A house up my street, smaller than ours with no pool or view, not really updated, sold for $580k in 2018. It's on the market for $1.2M with a Zestimate monthly payment of $7,100.

Our neighborhood is nice but only mid-upper Farragut. Who in the world is buying these places?

90 grand a year in mortgage alone????

It's ridiculous.

It’s not an unreasonable payment for someone getting a car that’s 3-4 years old or newer. But guess what sourpuss? If you can’t afford it then don’t do it. It’s that simple. I never said anything about inflation or standard of living but you can make $100K or more a year and still be flat broke if you don’t manage expenses. That’s the point so go to bed and stop whining about your own generation.

Things have to reset at some point. I couldn’t buy into the neighborhood we live in now. It’s crazy.

  • DailyMail.com has obtained a naked selfie of Frank Biden, President Joe Biden's younger brother
  • When approached by DailyMail.com, Frank conceded he was the man in the photo but denied posting it online saying his phone must have been hacked
A naked selfie of Joe Biden's brother Frank has been discovered on a gay porn site.

The photo was uploaded to GuysWithiPhones.com in 2018, when Frank – who has a long-term female partner Mindy Ward – was 64.

It was first unearthed by right wing nonprofit Marco Polo, which has been investigating the Biden family for alleged political corruption and crimes for years.

When approached by DailyMail.com, Frank, 69, conceded he was the man in the photo but denied he was the one who posted it.

'They must have hacked my phone,' he added.

'Anything that is a revealing picture of some kind is between Mindy and me.

And you missed the point. $12/hr 20 years ago went a lot further than it does today.

But here you go with "muh bootstraps" lectures.

Of course it does sourpuss. Literally no one says otherwise. That’s now a starting pay at fast food restaurants though, even in states with a lower minimum wage. If someone is making $12/hour now they’re either just starting out or not trying.

I would sell my house today if I knew of some affordable land in a spot the rest of my family would be willing to live. Then, I would put a barndominium on it once things correct.

Will they ever git rid of this incompetent POS who only reads answers from a notebook?
I guess they'd just replace her w/ John Kirby which is another lying incompetent POS.

You would think one of the most important skills for this job would be public speaking. She's not new to this job...but in that 30 seconds of speaking she mumbled "uhh" 11x by my count. Can't we do better in this country?

Two houses down in my neighborhood recently sold to a Japanese company who has immediately put it up for rent. I looked it up on the county assessor website. Yamasa Co ltd.

Interesting. Seems like a risky investment, with housing prices so inflated. What happens when the market corrects and people aren't willing to pay $4000-6000/m in rent, and the value of the homes drops 30-40+%?

People still need places to live. I'm guessing they're looking at it as a long term investment. Whether rent goes up or rent comes down, it's still money coming in.

But really, when does rent go down? When I used to rent an apartment, they raised my rent 50 bucks a month every year of the 4 years I lived there until I saved enough money for a house downpayment. That was in 2009 and it was like 850 a month. Now that same apartment is $1400 a month.

Two Border Patrol Agents Critically Injured in Arizona Immigration Checkpoint Crash

Two Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents sustained critical injuries when a driver of a white pickup truck crashed into an Arizona interior immigration checkpoint. The two agents were transported to a local hospital and then flown to a Phoenix hospital for more extensive treatment.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a crash that occurred on Saturday evening at the Border Patrol immigration checkpoint on Interstate 8 between Yuma and Welton, Arizona. Officials report that a 66-year-old man with three passengers sped through the checkpoint and crashed into two agents. Multiple injuries, including the two critical injuries to the agents, were reported, according to the Arizona Daily Independent.

You were the one talking ish about a $400 car payment when I'm telling you that isn't exactly an outrageous amount compared to 20 years ago. And I'm sure that is for a used car.

That’s now a starting pay at fast food restaurants though, even in states with a lower minimum wage. If someone is making $12/hour now they’re either just starting out or not trying.
And here again, you ignore (or simply DGAF) about the impact of inflation on standard of living. That is evidence of how far it has slipped in this country. Meanwhile, "muh bootstraps"...
