The White House press pool filed a formal complaint against Democrat President Joe Biden for refusing to answer questions from American media about the multiple crises that have erupted under his regime.

“[President] Biden and British PM [Boris Johnson] meet to discuss pandemic, trade and other issues,” CBS news reporter Ed O’Keefe tweeted. “Johnson took 3 questions. White House aides shouted down U.S. attempts to ask questions. I asked Biden about southern border and we couldn’t decipher what he said.”

You and I would define "making progress" as U.S. kids' education actually improving, which should show up as improvement in those world-wide educational rankings that you referenced. I keep feeling like I've missed something about DeSantis and a couple of others who seem to be popular in the GOP right now. First, I haven't watched or listened to news in some time other than the occasional local news when my wife decides to tune it in ... and even more rarely the national news. I don't habitually read news articles other than when headlines catch my interest. Maybe I'm a rarity, but I usually find I'm not. So I know basically nothing about DeSantis other than I believe he's the FL governor ... whoopie another damn politician. Unless I miss my bet; there are likely lots of people who are equally ambivalent about him and other GOP "frontrunners". For all the attention he and a few others get from some of you, there are many others who wouldn't know any of them if we tripped over them. That's a problem if you really think they are going somewhere.

The GOP keeps running people who aren't household names and who don't inspire - except for the wrong reasons like McCain and Romney. There are plenty of Never a Dems out there, but without inspiring electoral choices. To make matters worse the GOP latches on to single issues that inspire some of the flock - things like abortion or covid "solutions" in the belief that a one dimensional candidate can win in a world filled with lots of multidimensional problems. If you aren't selling "free stuff" like the dems, then you better have something very compelling, and I'm sure not seeing it.
