I'm not fully informed on our reserves, how much do we have atm? Also, I'm assuming we have a finite reserve amount, wouldn't this just place us MORE at the mercy of Opec? I mean, once those reserves are gone, what's next? Is Opec going to have pity on us once they are our only option? I just can't envision how this move helps our longterm problem.

I mean, once those reserves are gone, what's next? Is Opec going to have pity on us once they are our only option? I just can't envision how this move helps our longterm problem.
