Pollak: The Dream of Peace in Israel Is Becoming a Reality

Jerusalem-celebrates-Getty-640x481.jpg

Something extraordinary is happening in the Middle East — and for once, it is something good.

Over the past several weeks, Arab and Muslim countries have been stepping forward to offer peace and good relations with Israel.

First there was the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is establishing “full normalization” with the Jewish state, and will formalize an agreement at the White House later this month.

Then there was Kosovo, which is establishing relations with Israel and putting an embassy in Jerusalem under the terms of a deal brokered by the Trump administration last week.

Then Chad, a majority-Muslim nation, announced earlier this week that it will be putting an embassy in Jerusalem. Saudi Arabia announced that it will allow Israeli commercial flights above its airspace — not just to Dubai, but to all eastbound destinations.

The Palestinian Authority tried to convince the Arab League to denounce the UAE’s peace deal. The Arab League refused to do so.

And on Friday — the 19th anniversary of 9/11 — Bahrain announced that it, too, would normalize relations with Israel. It was a profound statement of peace, defying the efforts of terrorists to set the world on a path to endless religious war.

Other nations, too, are stepping forward to improve ties with Israel: Serbia is moving its embassy to Jerusalem as part of the Serbia-Kosovo agreement, and the African nation of Malawi is following suit.

But but ....... BB85 says Trump will let Iran develop a nuclear arsenal. Then all hell will be unleashed there.
You know ......... it's Trump's fault for letting Iran have a nuclear arsenal and letting WW3 & WW4 start.

guaranteed huh? You must still be in so much pain from surgery you're getting too delusional w/such a word.
There is zero incentive for Iran to abide by any prior agreement of non-proliferation. Why shouldn't they develop a nuclear arsenal? Trump sure as hell wouldn't do anything about it.

But .... you said/used the word "guaranteed" that he'd just let them build a nuclear arsenal. Your hate for President Trump has crossed the line of where nobody needs to say that. Maybe under your breath.
I think you need to go back and change guaranteed to no "I'm sorry, I'm being stupid tonight".

Pompeo Heads to Qatar on Eve of 9/11 for Talks to End Afghanistan War

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is traveling to Qatar for the beginning of long-stalled peace negotiations between the Taliban and Kabul to end the nearly two-decade-old Afghanistan war, President Donald Trump announced on Thursday.

Trump’s comments came on the eve of the 19th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that sparked the Afghanistan war.

“The negotiations are the result of a bold diplomatic effort,” Trump told reporters, referring to the Afghan government-Taliban talks, known as the intra-Afghan negotiations, expected to begin this weekend.

As I said in the other post, it still serves as a demonstration of how literally ANYONE can be nominated.
As many have pointed out before, no one who dislikes Donald Trump ever gives him credit for things he’s actually gotten done.

Israel 🇮🇱 peace deal with UAE 🇦🇪
Kosovo 🇽🇰 potential peace deal with Serbia 🇷🇸
Israel 🇮🇱 and Bahrain 🇧🇭 to normalize diplomatic relations

Why? You hate him that much, huh?

Obama farted and won the Nobel peace prize. History will look back on Trump and see him as one of the best presidents of all time.

If Trump had a tragic accident in 2016 that resulted in the loss of his vocal cords and thumbs, I would say he has had one of the best first terms has president in at least 30 years.

Unfortunately, all the verbal diarrhea won't let him be considered a great president.

They were going to the whole time . Come on BB it’s Iran , they aren’t going to sit there without one . Trump shouldn’t stop them , what he should do is try to stop Israel from making a huge mushroom cloud over their nuclear facility. It would be better for the world if they didn’t do that . Can’t say I blame them one way or the other , but it would be better for everyone if they didn’t . ( IMO )

Well, with all due respect... first off, congratulations on these two countries for resolving any issues they may have had. But in the general scheme of things, the Israeli-Bahraini rivalry isn't that high on the all time list... Israel-Syria, Israel-Iran, Turkey-Greece, India-Pakistan, India-China... I would say Trump would need to do a bit more to earn a Nobel nomination.
You left out a significant one: Russia-Ukraine. In the words of Trump ally, Sen. Lindsey Graham: "What I can tell you about the Trump policy toward Ukraine: It was incoherent."

After his loss in 7 weeks, the Coronavirus will be his lasting legacy... and his lies.

Well I agree with you I guess hell anybody can win too! Barry did!
I've never gotten the feeling that Obama even wanted it. At the very least, he didn't seem to care. Trump has practically begged for it. Can you think of another head of state who has ever publicly lobbied for a Nobel Peace Prize? It's all about the ego with Trump.
