99% of what I've read on here regarding him has painted him as some sort of fallback guy...like we'll take him if we don't land Marve/Newton/Heaps/Hendrix/Scroggins...

And those opinions make sense...he's been wanting to seal the deal for a while and we've made him hold off...

Regardless...I'm impressed with his numbers and at the very least I think he gives us a mich more viable 3rd option than Rozier

We were taking him regardless of any 2010 QB committment.

1st team JUCO AA...not that it doesn't mean anything, just that its not to be confused with HS Parade All American.

Even if things go south with Jesse, having Lamaison and Cam Newton could work out great. Offer Grayson to boot and call it a day
He had one of the best seasons ever at his level. Where has anyone here said that he was a parade all American?

So he did sign a letter of intent. I remember that was a question in his thread.

Everyone is reporting that he signed an LOI but I don't think that's possible. LWS said the last day to sign LOIs is 4/1. Regardless, he's coming and he's on scholarship.

My only concern is his height. He'll have to have excellent vision. Everything else looks good to me. It is also important that he counts on 2009 IMO.

Honestly, I'm more pleased with this kid than I would have been if UT had gotten Heaps as far as the player is concerned. I know Heaps might have helped a little with recruiting but I never saw anything in his highlights or any specifics in his write ups that made me think he was "The Guy".

Chaney helped Brees with his height issue. I think the height issue hurts more with his prospects of playing in the NFL, not having a successful college career.

I dont care how tall he is. Does he complete over 60%? that's the big question imo.

I find it interesting that talent evaluators aren't able to find several proven Juco standout QB's that would develop at a higher percentage to scouting expectations each year that eventually develop into sucessful Divsion 1 QB's. I remember when UT calleed upon Steve Allatore when we had a similar situation as we have today. I recall he was from the California Juco system and did a great job while we figured out our QB situation. Great pick up. He will be something special you just wait!:pepper:

Welcome!!!!!

3500 yds / 38 tds to 7 interceptions, 66.7% completion percentage, passer rating off the charts,if he can put up 1/2 of those numbers he will be a hero in K' ville.

All he signs is scholarship papers!

That would be 1750 yards and 19 touchdowns.yeah, we would all be happy with that.

That's pretty impressive when you consider he was a true freshman when he racked up those kinds of numbers...and JUCO AA, 1st team to boot.

Pretty sure one of CLK's connections in CA tipped him off about the guy. Really good find, IMHO, just like his teammate, Irvin (who committed to us as well)
