Barnes is not in his league. Won championships at multiple schools. Is he a good person? Probably not. But I don’t care about coaches on a moral level as long as it’s not illegal or a Penn State scenario. That is unacceptable. Cheating on his wife? Horrible husband but he isn’t paid to be a great husband.

It's always easy in hindsight to pick the best coaches...surprised you didn't say Red Auerbach or Coach K.

Guys...you have to wake up...it's really serious...you have all lowered your expectations and are settling for mediocrity!

Listen to what I am saying...this can't go on - we deserve so much more than what the men's basketball program is giving us!!!

I know...some of you are reading this and saying to yourself didn't we just go to only the 2nd ever E8 in program history but you are missing the point.

Others may be saying didn't we just the Bahamas tournament this season and basketball is a tournament sport - right? NO...you can only enjoy winning the NCAA tournament!

And, still, a few of you may be somehow thinking that going 14-0 while setting the program record for consecutive weeks being ranked #1 was awesome to experience - well...you're wrong and you have to wake the h*ll up so we can do something about this and finally get a coach who can lead us to that elusive nat'l title.

Now that I have your attention...I have an idea which is painfully obvious but all of you have somehow missed it...how about we go get the next Rick Pitino?

Remember how good Tennessee was before Barnes showed up. Tennessee was awful. Tennessee has just won an SEC title and went to an Elite 8. Its second in school history. Barnes is an outstanding coach. The best Tennessee has ever had. Let’s enjoy the ride. He won’t be here much longer. Let’s just hope the next guy is as good as he has been. Chances are he won’t be.

It’s amazing we are even having these conversations. Only 1 other team in the nation has less losses than Tennessee, and these guys are screaming mediocrity. Bias and hate can make a lot of people look pretty silly.

You rat yourself out as a troll or a know nothing when you call Rick Barnes a mediocre coach. Get out of here with that BS.

Is he perfect? No. Is he a top ten coach of all time? No. Is he likely to win a natty before retiring? No. He’s done a heck of a lot more here than practically any other coach who has ever been here, though. You can justify believing he’s good but not great. Calling him mediocre is laughable, though.

Minus the tirad your final thoughts are fair. I think he is a solid B to B+ coach. He is better than average and below elite. To get to an A- with me you have to win a championship. A is multiple championship. Other than Coach K, I can’t think of an A plus.

Quite the lofty perch you have for grading coaches. That B to B+ coach has been offered the head coaching jobs at easily the two historic blue bloods in the business. What do you know they don't know?

If a coach can be an A without winning a title then what is a coach who wins a title? An A plus plus? That’s a kindergarten type ranking then.

My scale is realistic. You want him to be an A coach so bad. I get it. He’s not. His resume has zero titles. He wins a title this year then he’s an A.

But he won’t. And you know he won’t. So you want me to grade on a scale for him. I don’t grade on a scale. B plus is very fair.

I been on the bandwagen for 60 years. With all the good teams in the conference you cant afford to loose to a lower tier team even at their place. I am pulling for them but you have to win the ones you are suppose to win.
