I really hope this is the last year that we chase the late signing guys like Charles, Brown, and Oku. This is ridiculous. I think guys like this need to go to Mid-Majors so they can have the spotlight that they're looking for. This is getting sickening.

they can sign anytime between NSD and April 1.

why is everyone so worked up about them signing late?

Because it's just a ploy for attention. If the Vols were to start handling things like Texas I wouldn't be mad at all. We are selling the program short by keeping offers out there that other guys would love to have. I have no problem with recruits waiting til signing day. But this I'll sign when I want to is ridiculous.

Maybe it's because their minds aren't made up and there's no law saying you have to sign papers on NSD. NSD is a made up event that has become a media circus.

I agree. Sometimes there are legitimate reasons for signing late, such as the situation with Orson Charles and his basketball schedule. It's these guys' future, they should be able to take the time to ensure they are making the best decision for them.

I think the NCAA should limit official visits to pre-February 4th though. These guys have had enough time to take their visits.

I don't get the fuss, really. Gives us something else to follow in what would normally be a real dead time for football.

all their situations are unique to each other.

Brown is no longer comfortable with Miami.

Charles played football into December and didn't have time to take fall visits.

I've heard Oku's father is in Iraq and that could be rattling him.

It's their decision. They're making decisions in their best interest, not ours.

The media has manipulated people into making this such a big affair. You're just in that web.

If you don't like the hunt, then don't chase. Recruit-watching isn't for everyone.

why would you quote wikipedia and not a dictionary? :ermm:

Really don't have a problem with Charles. The two RBs are who I'm not really liking right now. This recruiting advisor needs to be punched in the mouth. He's exploiting high school kids. These two guys would be at Tennessee and Miami in my opinion if it weren't for this guy. Maybe Brown would be elsewhere but Oku would be here.

I suggest you head over to VQ and listen to GoVols weekly radio show from last week. Shockingly, Bryce Brown is a humble, team-oriented, respectful young man (from what I can tell). It seems to me he is really getting a bad rap simply because of unconfirmed media speculation. Look at all the crap the media has said about us lately. Do you really believe everything that is said? I'm under the impression that Brown is not only a special talent, but actually a really good person as well.

I, too, would like to see you punch a 300-lb minister in the face. That would be great. (fail)

he's the one on the right---

I'm getting more pissed with this supposedly recruiting advisor. He's suggesting to a talent like Brown let's take your act to the CFL. That's just not right.

I wouldn't have a problem doing it. Wish I could just be in the cage with him for a good five minutes.

Post pics. And don't expect anyone here to help foot the hospital bill.

i really thought that the pre madonna debate had been settled. For this website, it's pre madonna. For any other group of remotely educated individuals outside the state of Alabama, it's prima donna.

You really should do some research on the subject before spouting off. It's pretty obvious that you have no idea the details of what went on.
