You guys ever been to Huntsville or Birmingham, Alabama? We are not country by far.

Yes, and yes. Unfortunately, I have driven through Birmingham and have family in Huntsville.

Birmingham is actually not that much bigger than Knoxville and if you include the suburbs of both, Knoxville is actually more populated. Alabama is crap compared to Tennessee.

Have you been to the suburbs down here? Also while I agree that it's more to do in Tennessee that doesn't make Bama crap. The worst thing about the state is the Crimson Tide.

Those kids would be great additions to our backfield and receiving corps.

BTW, didn't Terrelle Pryor wait 2 or 3 weeks last year???

I've spent enough time in Alabama to know that if I were raised there, I'd be trying like heck to get out.

I think that you're taking this a little too personally. I don't think there's a single person on this board that doesn't think that Birmingham is a great southern city. In my opinion it's a step behind Nashville (granted that's where I'm from and I'm a homer), but it has great schools, good industry (well, steel's a bust and banks are headed that way too), and one of the higher happy indexes according to fortune magazine. Huntsville's a great town and has more engineering jobs than just about any other city in the southeast outside of the research triangle in NC. But Alabama's also one of the few states at which Tennessee can genuinely look down its nose based on just about every relevant standard of living. Oh yeah, I forgot, it's also got
the farm college and "the University." Need I say anything else?

I really hope this is the last year that we chase the late signing guys like Charles, Brown, and Oku. This is ridiculous. I think guys like this need to go to Mid-Majors so they can have the spotlight that they're looking for. This is getting sickening.

These kids should take as much time as they need to make the right decision. We should relentlessly recruit the best players in the nation until they sign on the dotted line.
