Since this is a board to discuss other teams around the NCAA, I’d kinda like to see projected depth charts for the biggest opponents on Tennessee’s football schedule next year. We’ve posted many projections for the Vols already and, yes, these things are still fluid, but I’d like to see an overall picture of how the depth charts will look for, in order of importance:

Georgia
Alabama
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Florida
Kentucky
Virginia (since it’s the opener)

Anyone with more knowledge than me wanna start individual threads for any of these teams? Maybe even some rival posters?

Only bama and Georgia on that list are going to have great depth just cause of the way they've recruited. Both lose their QBs so that's there biggest question mark and if bama gets a great DC they'll be even more of a problem. Obrien looks to out as OF so they'll likely improve there as well.

Florida has to be improved but prob still won't be good. South Carolina could make some noise with rattler returning. Texas A&M has the talent and with Petrino they could be really good. Add in freeze at auburn and lsu the west could be interesting.

I know one thing

We are going to splatter Virginia all over Nashville.

They don't bring back Brennan Armstrong and replace him with Tony Muskett from Monmouth

Muskett's only experience against an FBS opponent came against a 7-6 Middle TN St team in 2021

Threw for 177 1 TD 1 INT

Now Brennan Armstrong was sensational in 2021. One of the best QB's in the country. Threw for 4449 yards 31 TD's to 10 INT's

Enter Tony Elliot

Armstrong 2210 yards 7 TD's 12 INT's...

Muskett of Monmouth's first game will be essentially a road game, with a completely inept offense that also lost its best offensive player WR Keytoan Thompson, pretty much on the road against one of the best teams in the country....

Gonna be ugly

Why would Florida be improved? They lose everyone. That might be a 3 or 4 win team.

Which gators have transferred or declared for the draft?

NFL early entries:
Anthony Richardson-QB
Justin Shorter-WR
O'Cyrus Torrence-OL
Brenton Cox, Jr.-DE/OLB (had previously been dismissed)
Gervon Dexter-DT
Rashad Torrence-S

Starters out of eligibility:
Ventrel Miller-LB
Amari Burney-LB
Trey Dean-S

And here are all the portal guys leaving and coming into Florida's program:
2023 Florida Gators Football Transfers

Also, they just lost their top QB recruit Jaden Rashada. It's not going to be a good season in Gainesville next year. Far less talent going into 2023 than 2022.

I would think Pearsall would enter the draft.

And yet we all know they will play us incredibly tough and close.

That said, a win in Gainesville and the start of our win streak would effectively remove the Florida monkey from our backs.

A&M has recruited well enough to have great depth now. They’ve been top 10 in recruiting 4 straight years.

I think Bama will be in trouble unless they get a high tier transfer qb

Simpson or Milroe could still develop. Both were true freshmen in 2022. I’m not sure there will be a portal QB available after the spring who would be better. But you’re right…they need to figure that position out. Young covered up a lot.

They’ve also had a ton of them transfer out, don’t have a decent QB, and are dysfunctional.
Fair. I haven’t kept up with the transfer portal. I honestly don’t know how coaches manage a roster these days between transfers, 2 signing days, a Covid year, NIL and whatever else they have to consider when constructing a roster.

😂🤣
So it’s “speculation” to say that the players/coaches in this program do NOT have a mental hangup with Florida, but it’s not speculation to say they do.
You said "gone", before the road win at Florida has actually happened. I say speculation until we prove we can win there. Call it what you want from there.

We are 1-1 against them. Including a loss in Gainesville. And it's not like they were a top 10 team. They fired their coach that year.

I would say it's far too early to call anything. We let them right back into the game this year, and offense went stale when we needed it.

I mean they're at rock bottom now. Sunbelt Billy is out if they don't improve. That's one thing I will give Florida. They expect results quick or out the door you go
