I say let Norm Chow come in as Associate Head Coach and have free reign on offense and allow him to pick his own staff. Give him four years to prove himself and if he shows he can lead the SEC offensively in the East, in the 5th year Fulmer moves up to Associate Athletic Director in Charge of Football Operations or retires and Chow becomes Head Coach. This way Fulmer can do what he does best, recruit and clap his hands, Chow builds a scoring machine and Chavis a stopping machine.

The only thing I would do different would be to fire Fulmer and Hire NC as HBC

Tell me why Norm Chow would come to UT. He was at the best college in the nation. Ut would be an insult to him.

Norm,
We apologize for being so stupid and arrogant to think you would come coach this team. We think we are the greatest college in america, but we are not. Please accept this apology for all the stupid idiots that think this way.

Because he is in Nashville having his ass handed to him every week like Spurrier did in DC

He would love to get back to College football. (like Spurrier did)

This is the only part of this thread that has made any sense.

Well Wes, maybe he would like to be a head coach someday like he reportedly said he would like to do. He helped make USC what it is and didn't get anything out of it. Here, he could make it the best team in America and get to own it if he's successful.

Obviously there would be a restructuring of Fulmer's contract. Load it with incentives for success.

You know that Chow has seen some Tennessee football games as of late. I bet there was a lot of :disappointed: going on.

Saw the following post on another site: "My first post here and haven't seen it posted yet but according to Jim Dunnaway this AM on a morning radio show here in Alabama, he will be the first to announce that Norm Chow is taking over as OC for UT. His show comes out of Birmingham and is on WJOX 690. Now that would be interesting huh? Just wonder where this would leave Cutcliffe if true?"

First, Fulmer is not going anywhere.

Second, while you are comparing schools...... the 04 must be when you started watching football.... because USC has been good the past several years.... but all-time Tennessee is 8th in Division I-A history in wins while USC is 10th.... should we go back into USC history, we only have to go back to 2001 for a non-winning season (6-6) and 2000 for a losing season (5-7). Going further back we find that USC was 6-6 in 1999.... 8-5 in '98.... 6-5 in '97 and 6-6 again in '96. I find no reason why Norm Chow would not love to coach at UT. It is one of the top 10 programs in the NCAA.

Because Norm Chow will quit an NFL job making probably $500k a year to come to Knoxville and make $165k year?

Right...

I was referring to a previous post that said that Norm Chow would not come to Knoxville to be Head Coach because USC was a better situation and the left USC for the NFL. However, I feel the lure of HC job plus the $2Mil that goes with it would bring Norm Chow to Knoxville. Although, I don't think Fulmer will be going anywhere.

If you ask me Norm Chow is too good for anyone. If he did come to UT, I would not expect him to stay too long befor he finds A NFL head coach job. Hes the best... Anyone know how much hes makin with the Tits right now??? We would have to have to fold that amount.

Oh, I know. I wasn't referring to your post specifically. I do agree that the head job would be alluring.

Chow like Cut wants to be a head coach. He was very disppointed to be turned away for the stanford. More money in head coaching and im sure Chow would want to try to something other than OC.

So you think UT is an insult?

For someone like Chow to work under Fulmer is a joke. Now if Chow came in to take over no thats not an insult. No way he comes in and works under Fulmer. :birgits_giggle:

I have to agree Chow has talent and he needs to get a HC position as soon as he can. Lets just hope Mem, Vandy, and Tucky give us a hard time so they might question the future for the vols??? You guys wanna win dont ya????

No way Norm Chow comes to UT. If he wanted to be in college football he would have stayed at the best program in the country right now- USC. He left USC because he wanted to be in the NFL. Just because the Titans are struggling, dosen't mean he is going to come back to college. The Titans released all of their good players, and they are rebuilding. He will stay in the NFL until he is offered a HC job.
