Property Taxes

The only fact is that if you don't pay your property taxes they take your property.

If you don't pay your rent, you get evicted.

The fact is you have to pay the government to use, reside in "your" property.

You are effectively renting your property from the government as long as you own it.

You're being obtuse, totally ignorant, or stupid. I'll allow you to choose.
I liked your post because it was funny. We're not talking about renting here. That's entirely different, unless of course, you have no interest in nuance. Seems to be the case here. As far as owning, they will sell the property for unpaid taxes, but the OWNER keeps the difference after taxes are covered

That is just a recent practice. Until the SCOTUS ruling last year localities could keep the entire proceeds.

Don't get too excited. Politicians will just find another way to suckle at the teat of the public wallet. They always do.

Here's what we've established. If one rents you have the responsibility of paying your landlord to use that property. If one doesn't pay, you lose the property. If one owns property, one must pay the government to use the property, annually. If you don't pat, you're thrown out and you lose your property. You're basically renting your property from. The government.

Look, I realize you leftist are missing the ability to form logic. It's a section of your brains that has slowly over time that has disappeared due to lack of use.

You're so tribal and ignorant in your assumptions. This is about ownership of property. It has nothing to do with political ideology, you clown

This is about owning a property
That's correct. That's my point. If you have to keep it up under government direction and you have to pay the government every year to "own" it. Do you really ever own it? You can own plenty of things without the government requiring a payment every year. You can truly own those things.

It absolutely does you simpleton. You're a big government, big tax liberal, leftist. You've been programmed to view the world through the liberal, socialist mindset. You have zero clue what freedom is. I pity you.

I know what my property taxes pay for and am ok with it. If it meant an upgrade to the facilities at my public schools, I would gladly pay more for it. I'm glad our roads are repaired and upgraded as needed in my community. If a city and county makes the necessary improvements with tax revenue, I am satisfied. For the most part, I'm happy how my local government has appropriated the revenue

Please provide evidence of any post of mine that would suggest I am a big government leftist. You are a clown

I’d say the lender would foreclose and pay the taxes before they let a property be auctioned off by the county. I’ve never seen a property with a lien be auctioned for delinquent property taxes.
sounds messy

Agreed. In the US you never OWN property, at best you just rent it from the local/state government.

I realize property taxes will never go away but at some point it should be frozen. Own a property x number of years and at the very least the amount you pay in property taxes should never increase.

Alabama has an insanely low property tax. Sucks it’s Alabama though.

I don’t get what’s so hard for him to understand about this.
