Proposal For New SEC Divisions

Seems like there are four options.

Missouri added to east.
Cons: Missouri is 3rd most western team/long distance to Florida/USC.
Pros: All rivalries Historic and post expansion remain intact.

Auburn to the East.
Cons; lose either Iron Bowl/3SiO.
Pros: Most geographical sense.

Entire state of Alabama east - Vandy West :
Cons: the two teams that have combined for 58% of Western division titles are moved to the East-divisions unbalanced competetively.
Pros: Keep traditional rivalries.

North/South:
Cons: North teams separated from Texas/Florida recruiting market (See BigXII North), travel distances are much higher for eastern/western most teams.
Pros: ?

Missouri to the east makes the most sense I think if UF and USC can be placated.

Very nice summary. I agree that Mizzou to the East works best. I think it causes the least amount of damage.

I also think the North/South recruiting hangup could be lessend a bit if they time the schedule rotation to ensure each North team is playing at least one of Florida/A&M/Georgia every year.

They already have such an advantage...they don't need anymore. North South is a terrible idea.

Missouri to the East has BY FAR the least hang up's and issues.

Once a year one of South Carolina or Florida will have to travel to Missouri...big whoop.

They could've solved that by, you know agreeing to FSU/Clemson. The price they pay to have their own state.

Yep...it's a price they'll gladly pay too.

And Florida will finally have to play somewhere north of Lexington...even if it's only by about 50 miles or so.

They get Kentucky in September now though...They should get Missou at the end of the year IMO.

They may do something where if mizzou v USCe/UF is at the latter schools - the game's late in the year

If it's at mizzou, then maybe it's in sept/early oct

If they do put Missouri in the east I want the UF-MU game to be late November. Lets see Florida play a game in cold weather.

I'm hoping the schedule shuffle that results from adding the new teams moves Florida on our schedule.

Can we be like the b1g and call our divisions something like legends and leaders? That would pretty cool, right?
