I think its hilarious cause some of these guys were dogging tennessee and basically gave up on em, in the pre-season real fans that know tennessee football knew they would be back on top, but i even read on fox sports friday night that "tennessee is a shade better then temple" i bet that writer feels dumber then jeff tedford and the bad news bears
That's a misquote...

Yep, a bad misquote. The quote is actually a statement about all the chicken little fans more than the state of our program. Some people have some serious reading comprehension problems. The article basically said that if you believe some Vol "fans" (many of whom can be found right here on this board) that we are a shade better than Temple.

Man, since you are obviously so well informed would you be willing to put a up few names so we could drum them out of the corps.. We just hate to have non believers that would equate our guys with the Temple program.

I don't think that's necessary. Just check all the Ainge and Fulmer threads and you can make your own list.

I see what you're saying hman... but the point is that the CFN reporter didn't write what was attributed to him. I read the article, it was a cheap shot, but nothing like what was just quoted.

Fair enough. However, we are running on a positive note and I personally have never checked in on the "negaVol" concept. Have always tried to be a positive Vol fan and will continue to be. Any negative fans will get their fair share of retribution (I hope) Football season has commenced and only positive sentiments will be appreciated to this point ( if not move on to another board)

Agreed. I apologize for the jack+++ comment. I am just bothered when people misquote articles when the message of the writer doesn't please them. I am not a negaVol by any means but I don't think we need to misquote people to prove a point.

As much love as they've passed out, they DIDN'T nominate Hardesty's run for "game changing performance". They DID nominate the one handed catch by the kid from La Tech even though they LOST.

The thing about La Tech is crap. I'm not upset about not nominating that run though, becasue it was over.

I would give it to Meachem's first TD catch if anything.

UT played better then I've seen them play since that 2001 Florida game. That could have easily been 49-0. They ought to be favorites playing Florida after that game. :eek:k:

I'm pretty excited about UT's chances to win the SEC after that game. They clicked everywhere.

You didn't take Santana Moss in your NFL league either. Yet another choice you will look back on and shake your head.

I don't have Moss either I have Galloway instead I guess it's a mistake too huh :)

I hope all of you get as big a kick outta the Sporting News pre-game ranking and prediction for the Cal game (you guys may've seen it before the game) - I stumbled across it a few minutes ago and will include it here for your grand entertainment

24. Tennessee They have fell a little since the preseason power rankings. Ainge supposedly is stinking it up again in the August scrimmages. Including going two straight scrimmages without a TD and 3 INTs. The LBs haven't shown much growth either. That Cal game is looking scary for the Vols at this point.

Holtz is pitiful. I watched him Thursday night and felt bad for the other commentators trying to cover for him. He is not a good analyst and a horrible commentator. Buy out his contract ESPN and save yourself some embarrassment.

One of the mysteries of modern day football...I think it's all about some kind of sympathy thing...or they got him without realizing how out of touch he is, and now can't get rid of him...

Good man...but out of touch...
