I can't underscore how big of an economic impact it has locally when you lose a game. Most that have been in sales in Knoxville know that when UT is winning/has a good team and they play here, business is good. Happy fans spend money. The impact that adding 100,000 people to Knoxville for a gameday that can spend money is huge for the economy.

As s Nashville area Vol, I’m all for it. I’ve got two little ones and going to Knoxville for one game with them and the wife every year ends up costing a good bit because the kids can’t do it all in one day. Bought some semi-reasonably priced tickets for Virginia game and will get to drive home after.

Same here! I live just north of Nashville, and I love when we have games at Nissan. Got 8 tickets for the UVA game and actually able to take a big group of friends to see the Vols, and have time to do things over than drive for hours.
