Pruitt, Fulmer, Helton and Friend Visit Cade Mays

Not sure how that's relevant on locking down the better players instate. Didn't hurt us on our last losing season a few yrs ago. You would think Mays would see the opportunity to have every opportunity to start from day 1. And in his hometown. The talent in TN continues to get better every year and have to keep the ones we have instate. Atleast the majority of them.

It’s very relevant. Your on some good ish if you think these highly recruited kids aren’t considering winning over a hometown school. There’s a lot to say for going to a school knowing it has championship contentions right away versus going to UT where you’d be lucky if things are back on track in 2-3 years. Not to mention the nfl attention he could get from a championship team versus a mediocre team if he ends up being great.

I hope we get the kid, but if not I certainly see why not.

His tweet tonight was a slap at UT.

He has apparently made his choice. There will be many more who will have their heart in moving Tennessee to the top again.

Coach will get the ones we need, and he won't have to beg.

Maybe he’s looking for instant gratification. Who knows. But my take and gut feeling with JP is either get on the bus or get off either way this thing is in motion and we will move forward with those that want to be a part of the process. We will take what we have and what we get and coach the hell out of them and be better for it. I love the underdog feeling and if a 5 star guy wants to be courted too much then move on. Give me guys that can take correction, coaching and develope thick skin and go to work.

Is this post coming from his decommitment in general, or have I missed something? I thought we were still in the mix.

Fulmer Pruitt and Co still pursuing to me seems his decommital isn’t unforgivable.

It was said that Mays refused to have an in home with Pruitt or Fulmer. If that changes then fine. Until it does, screw him.

Does anybody know if Mays wanted them to come see him at Catholic? Or did the staff just drop by hoping they could change his tune?

If he commits somewhere else so be it. It sucks because he clearly is showing that he’s only committing to the coach and not the university. Hard to wrap my head around it because he grew up a huge UT fan. Obviously it’s not about the school to him and only the coach. All the more respect to Trey Smith for being a true VFL.

So if being in championship contentions is really his reasoning, then why did he commit in the first place? Tennessee never even sniffed an SEC East title under Butch. So how does the wanting to compete for championships explain his commitment to us?

Thats all BS. Mays trolled us harder than Gruden did.

Looking at pics of Mayes compared to Trey Smith is like night and day. Smith is a manchild while Mayes looks more like a child. Definitely not ready to start as a freshman

If his hearts in it and he’s willing to work come on. If not he needs to be where he wants to be. We’ve had several legacy’s over the years show up out of commitment and they’re miserable and don’t have the careers they expected. Some went on. But right now we need players who want to make themselves champions, not coattail on what others have done.

If any of y’all are on Twitter go give big Trey Smith a shoutout and tell him thank you for being a true VFL. It’s obvious at this point he committed to UT and not the coach. That’s the kinda guys we need!

Then he should not have hard sold guys ahead of him like Smith.

That is my main grievance with Mays. Again, you tell your boys to jump in the water, then walk away. Lose respect for that.
