It is an intriguing idea, but as others have pointed out, Deion wouldn't take anything below head coach. And we already have a shining diamond in that spot.

But even if he would take the recruiting job, we still probably shouldn't offer it. Wherever Deion is, it's about Deion. Not about the players, or the program, or the university: about him. That AFLAC commercial where Saban says, "Is that a goat?" and Deion responds, "You talkin about me?" with a smile, that's it exactly.

That line of the commercial is funny because it echoes a truth in real life. It's about him, even when it's not about him. I don't think that helps us strategically, even if tactically it might net us some recruits.

All in all, nah...I think we're good. Pass on this one.

If I were a HC I wouldn't want Deon within 100 miles of my staff... and would NEVER make him a "token" recruiting draw.
