Pure Speculation, But I'd Try It

Not happening nor even remotely realistic. Tennessee doesn’t need Deon to recruit. I wish him well in his coaching endeavors. GBO!!!!

I thought he was Auburn bound until I saw this interview:

Nothing should surprise me, but I cannot imagine this guy representing a D-1, Power 5 school.

Explore the possibility we could hire Deon Sanders as recruiting coordinator or hired gun recruiter. The talent he could bring here would be massive. This might sound beyond insane, but rumor rumbles is that Auburn is toying with the idea of hiring him as a HC. What he has done at Jackson State is quite noticeable. If it were up to me, I'd give bringing him here as a recruiter to serious looking at.
I think there's a better chance he becomes head football coach at Georgia Tech.

He will be representing a power 5 school within 2 years. Times are changing gramps. He's gonna bring a hellacious energy and will be loved.

Prime Time looks pretty damn goofy in those AFLAC commercials next to Munchkin Nickie.

If I were a HC I wouldn't want Deon within 100 miles of my staff... and would NEVER make him a "token" recruiting draw.

If I was AD, I'd jail Fulmer for program sabotage. SIGH! You and I with our wishful thinking. I think I'll have three scrambled eggs, a bear claw, three sausage patties, and a 20oz cup of Blue Mountain rum flavored Jamaican coffee.

It is an intriguing idea, but as others have pointed out, Deion wouldn't take anything below head coach. And we already have a shining diamond in that spot.

But even if he would take the recruiting job, we still probably shouldn't offer it. Wherever Deion is, it's about Deion. Not about the players, or the program, or the university: about him. That AFLAC commercial where Saban says, "Is that a goat?" and Deion responds, "You talkin about me?" with a smile, that's it exactly.

That line of the commercial is funny because it echoes a truth in real life. It's about him, even when it's not about him. I don't think that helps us strategically, even if tactically it might net us some recruits.

All in all, nah...I think we're good. Pass on this one.

Go Vols!
do i even need to tell you how stupid this is? Deion uses himself to promote others and not just JSU. weird how u can hate the man and dont say u dont

In this age of utter societal insanity on every level, what was once unthinkable is exhibiting itself as astonishing reality. I'd be surprised to be surprised by practically anything these days. LIFE isn't what it was, it's not what it is, nor what it's even going to be.

No, I like him. He was a marvelous football player, generational talent, and is a bright and--by all indications thus far--effective head coach. And as far as I know, he's a good man, too.

But none of us are 100% good or 100% evil. We're all complicated. We have strengths and weaknesses. Deion instinctively draws all the attention in the room to himself. He has done that for his entire public life. I think even--perhaps especially--his loved ones would acknowledge this.

I don't think this is a revelation to anyone. And I don't even think it's all that controversial. It just is one aspect of who Deion Sanders is.

You might want to go find another windmill to tilt at, Don Quixote. There is no dragon here.

I know you said this is pure speculation but is there some rumor that this might happen, or are you just sharing your own random thoughts? I’m not being a jerk, just wondering what prompted this.

This is our current recruiting coordinator. She’s apparently one of the best in the business, was hand picked by Heupel and White to follow them from UCF, and let’s be honest…. she looks like this.

This is who you want as your recruiting coordinator, I promise:

Thanks for asking. It's sort of a combination of both. I did see a reference not long ago that there were rumblings in Auburn about looking to see if he might be a HC possibility. Personally, I think he has done a very good job at Jackson State. I think he pulled at least one of our DL players from us, who went there instead of Oklahoma. And from what little attention I gave it, it seems he got hold of a few other low stars players who might have signed with a P5 program otherwise. His players seem to really like him and play hard for him.

Now, the talk about him being a P5 coach, while he might do well, I don't think so. He's too flamboyant, and like a certain fat man, doesn't know when or even how to reign in his mouth. Further, his success at Jackson State, a HBCU, is his appeal to primarily Black players, which isn't a bad thing, good, in fact. But I question how that appeal would work at a P5 school that with a far more diverse roster. Quite frankly, I hope my assessment is beyond dead wrong, but how I currently see it. Based on this view, I think IF, IF, IF he could be hired as a recruiting coordinator, he'd draw in some crazy talent. I wouldn't be surprised it Auburn tried to entice him as either a co-HC (which would backfire due to Deon's ego), or position coach with the bait of making him THE HC down the line. But utilize him as primarily a recruiter. He isn't stupid, so he'd probably see through this, BUT he does have a big ego, which might overrule his intellect. So while just randomly speculated, I also don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility. Would Tennessee consider him? Well, who knows, w've done crazier things, like hiring bush league coaches, Bama saboteurs twice, and other shooting ourselves in the foot antics. Much as we love the guy, ole Dan White is no more crazy-proof than anyone else. As daily news shows, these are times that twists men's brains.

Deion would never be endorsed for "humility" on LinkedIn.

No way he'd ever sit in a chair that wasn't a throne.

I respect this!

He's naturally like that. The thing is....he uses it for others and that's great!
