Exactly my point. Gates shouldn't be lesser known. I literally do not know one single person who listens to rap and prefers Future over Gates....or Future over almost anybody for that matter. Future has had like 2 decent songs in his entire career and is mostly only good for a mumbled hook or ad libs on some junk Jay Z featuring Beyonce track.

Gates has more bangers than I can think of off the top of my head.
You don’t know very many people then.

You don’t know very many people then.

I know as many people as I need/want to. I admit that North Floridians who listen to rap LOVE Kevin Gates....even a lot the women I know in the area, who listen mostly to R&B or don't listen to rap at all, also really love Gates' music. He gets love like he is a local.

I know some people that like Future but not as many as like Gates and can't think of one that prefers Future (and I talk music a lot with friends and even minor acquaintances). Obviously, lots of people across the country, and world, like Future but that I think a good amount of his popularity is a result of his affiliation with Jay Z/Roc Nation and the music industry and pop culture influencing things through marketing dollars. He really has only had a couple of his own tracks do well and all the others are tracks he as been a feature on or done the hook. He has produced some stuff but producer credits don't reveal much about contributions.

Gates is a little more regional because he doesn't have the hype machine behind him like Future, but most people who know both artist's music are going to rate Gates higher and more telling is that other rappers interviewed mention Gates as being fire.
