You seem much more concerned about discrediting the site/source of the information than the information itself.

What evidence would you need to have skepticism of the "official" story reported by the mainstream media?

This isn't a Republican/Democrat issue. We've all been asleep. They've been State-run media for decades.

More recently all of them are controlled by just 6 companies.

Bill Kristol is part of the Deep State. Before Jullian Assange ever blew up or 4chan was even a thing, Bill Kristol was creating the Project for A New American Century (PNAC) in the late 1990's.

That’s a very important question. It’s been theorized that this was a setup by the Obama administration. If that turns out to be true, it’s going to tear this country apart.
