This whole thread is the saddest thing about us as a people. The problem is they are internet drug addicts, who fell for this shat, don't take a single moment to reflect on how they are being brain screwed by bs information. They just move on like it's no big deal. Like they aren't harming the country.

QAnon is almost exactly like the Jon Gruden fiasco that happened on this very site. The parallels are uncanny, and I say that as someone who was sucked into the Grumors.it has reminded me of those days since the very start of it. The stakes and potential societal harm are of course much bigger with Q.

Just like with Grumors, a few have admitted it and are angry at being duped. Most just spin even wilder theories about why it didn’t happen or that it still can and is all part of the plan. It’s the self preservation instinct.

The Steele dossier came from the GOP 2016 primaries, Ted Cruz’s Oppo Research firm specifically. After Trump won the GOP nomination, the Dems then picked up the tab to continue the investigation.

When the big day rolls around and not much happens, disillusionment quickly sets in. Ditto if your messiah dies or falters.

But it's too early to celebrate. QAnon may fade. But the kinds of people attracted to it may well instead just gravitate to other similar movements, including ones that don't make the mistake described above.
