Combined stats from Worley,Dobbs,and Peterman

Completions- 166
Attempts- 301
Yards- 1727
Completion- % 55.2
TD-10
INT-13
I realize I am playing captain obvious here, but it is amazing to see the actual numbers proving how bad the QB play has been this year. I feel like Dobbs is getting better and with more playmakers coming in... this will look much better next year. Just thought I would share the actual numbers.

GO VOLS- DESTROY VANDY!

Yes. Average to poor QB play will get you killed in any conference, much less the SEC. But we just have to be patient with the 2 true freshmen.

I believe the QB situation will be an open one between Fergs and Dobbs next Spring. Jmo. I don't think Dobbs has won exclusive rights to first team snaps. Again, jmo.

Not just yours...Dobbs seems to have all you need in a starting QB...smarts, arm, composure and wheels...and as a non EE true freshman, he has performed reasonably well...but Fergie might have all that with the extra "it" factor...who knows?...hoping they duke it out in the spring and we get to find out :)

This .

I think it will be Dobbs in the end. Kid is everything we are looking for in a QB in this system we run .

I agree, I'm still behind Justin but Dobbs seems to be the answer. Not to say I would be disappointed with Riley, but Josh has done everything asked of him, but needs some help from the OL.

Dobbs is doing a decent job but no QB that has played for us this year has show much of the "it factor." If it's Fergie or whoever...I'm for that person to step up next year and lead us to some victories.

Might be too early to tell...probably happy right now for a QB to take a snap without breaking his thumb :)

If he does he hasn't really shown it on the field. I'm not saying he's played badly but he has yet to anything above average. Hell, Auburn's QB only threw 7 passes, 1 of which was a pick 6, and he showed way more of an "it" factor in the game than Dobbs did. He torched our D over and over running the ball. Dobbs...not so much.

I'm not hating on Dobbs and I realize we run a somewhat different system but he really hasn't done anything outstanding since becoming QB. We've pretty much gotten blown out since he took over. Granted, our D hasn't helped anything. We have lots of problems and QB is still one of them, IMO.

I wonder what Dobbs numbers would've been if he was playing against our defense?

He would never see the field.....the kick returner would take it to the house everytime!

Seriously, that is a good point. I think we should get a better indication of his ability against Vandy. The Bye week will help him more than any player we have.

Prior to the season, I believe I said in one post:

"So goes Worley, so goes the season!"

I think Dobbs has done an ok job. Still not completely sold though, doesn't seem to have the knack for completing the downfield pass. If he doesn't complete a few of these, defenses are going to continue to ignore the deep ball and key on the run and the 5 yd pass. I realize he is still very young but think if it was not for wasting Fergie's red shirt we would be seeing him now.

Winning the next two games and getting a bowl game, would not be wasting a red shirt . Whoever gives us the best chance to win this year and next year should be playing

I met Justin Worley after the game on Saturday and people kept asking him if he would be back this season and he said "yes for the bowl game" so we must be beating Vandy and Kentucky. Go Vols!!!

I don't understand what Butch sees in Peterman. He played god awful and panics all the time when rushed

I still think Worley ends up being the starter next year. It seemed like he was starting to show some flashes before his thumb got jacked up. At the very least he showed that we was very capable of managing the game. JD and RF are the future, but I think Worley edges them out for another year when healthy.

Really? Imagine that.... QBs gotta play well for a below average football team to win games. Did you post anywhere about how the defense needs to get off the field on third downs anywhere?

Just messin buddy 😊😁

Dobbs has the speed and allusiveness to be a real threat in the read option. But he has to get better at his reads. Look at the way Auburn's QB or Johnny Manziel "instinctively" hand off or keep the ball. They read the DE or 3 technique in a nano-second and then execute the play that gives them the best advantage. At least once against Bama Josh was so slow in developing the play the Tide MLB got over the top and made the play on him before he could turn the corner. He'll get better as time goes on. He's gonna be fun to watch!

If a bowl game is as important as the coaches say it is, than anyone who can help us win should play regardless of redshirts or not. Other than poor defensive play the last three games, the next worst stat is only 2 offensive TDs, 1 defensive TD, and 5 FG's. EVERYONE on offense must play harder and be more productive.
